Saadi of Shiraz Meets Tehran University President in Golestan!
This is a strange anecdote about Saadi of Shiraz's meeting with the president of Tehran University, and it is still unclear in which chapter of the Golestan it is mentioned.
According to the social service of Sefir Arjan, the official news is this: a picture of the head of one of the newly built dormitories of Tehran University was circulated in cyberspace, with the name of "Dr. Mohammad Hossein Omid", the current president of this university, printed on it. The image quickly made headlines and prompted many questions about why a public university building would be named after a serving president.
Public Relations of Tehran University announced in an official explanation that this dormitory was built by Dr. Moslinejad's cultural foundation and it was named after the president of the university, despite the serious opposition of Dr. Omid himself, by the foundation and in recognition of his efforts in expanding non-profit university foundations. Khair made a condition for naming and the university could not prevent it. This dormitory is for male students and is scheduled to be opened by the end of this month.
Now read Ambassador Arjan's humor about this:
"The other day, I met one of the greatest scholars of science, whose name was "Hope" and whose purpose was despair. He was tired and he was sitting on the chair of the president, he raised his name and put it on the head of a dormitory.
I said: O official, why put your name on a non-institutional house? He said: Kindness asked this, and devotion also arose from us. Bonny's condition was such that our contrary opinion did not matter.
I said: Sokhon, if you openly said against Bani, then why did you accept his condition? And now that according to him, your name is high on it, it is no longer necessary to lower it. Your fate has passed and your loss has been revealed to you. Let it remain a name, even if it is an example.
And I heard that before this, one of the scholars who was on the same Masnad, did not put his name on the building and left such a double-edged mark on the memory so that if one day the name comes up, he would say that it is "Amid" I, Mr. Amid. But this one, whatever he took from the tree, raised it on the top of the dormitory. However, Omid was the same as Omid, and Omid, with its incomplete pun, is more alert than Omid.
It is even more strange that at a time when the rank of the university has gone from the top to the bottom, they put the name of the president on the dormitory and not on the hall of science. I said: Maybe it is good for them to see Omid in the dormitory; that hope in this land can only be found in sleep, and even if it wakes up, it will bring nothing but despair.
And the sages have said: Naming a building after the name of the living in power is neither gratitude nor honoring; which is possession of what should belong to everyone. And whoever stands up after the incident is like a drowning man who shouts after drowning.
A copy of Omid was also published in our university
