South Korea, the United States and Japan are seeking a nuclear alliance against the countries of the region - Russian Foreign Ministry

Konstantin Vorontsov, deputy director of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Non-Proliferation and Arms Control Department, emphasized Seoul's regular efforts to blame Russia for its years of deliberate escalation.

Moscow, October 14. /TASS/. "South Korea, the United States and Japan are basically working to create a nuclear alliance against other countries in the region," said Konstantin Vorontsov, deputy director of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Non-Proliferation and Arms Control Department.

At the meeting of the First Committee of the United Nations General Assembly, he noted: South Korea has decided to bring "peace and stability" to the Korean Peninsula by dropping the American nuclear bomb on North Korea.

In 1976, it began participating in joint exercises with the United States involving nuclear strikes and carpet bombing of North Korea, an activity that continues to this day. Now, building on this years-long aggressive policy, Seoul has allied with the nuclear-weapon states against Washington. Vorontsov added.

The Russian diplomat underscored Seoul's regular efforts to blame Russia for its years of deliberate escalating actions that are at the root of the current crisis on the Korean Peninsula.

"In Resolution 3390B, which was adopted at the 30th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the First Committee already outlined specific steps to provide strong guarantees of peace on the Korean Peninsula, which include the withdrawal of all foreign troops stationed in South Korea and the replacement of the armistice agreement with an agreement. Vorontsov emphasized: Since none of the above is in the long-term plans of Washington and Seoul, a comprehensive solution to the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula should not be expected in the near future.
