Fourfold Increase in Industrial Drug Seizures at Khorasan Razavi Borders

The commander of Khorasan Razavi Border Guards reported a fourfold increase in seizures of industrial drugs, including crystal meth, along the province's border with Afghanistan in the first half of this year compared with the same period last year, saying 1.5 tons of various narcotics have been seized at the province's borders during this time.

Khorasan Border Guard Commander Razavi announced a fourfold increase in the detection of industrial drugs, including glass, in the province's border strip with Afghanistan during the first half of this year compared to the same period last year and said: "During this period, one and a half tons of narcotics were discovered at the borders of the province."

According to the report of Ambassador Arjan from Khorasan, Sardar Majid Shuja, referring to the process of drug discovery in the borders of Khorasan Razavi, said: The amount of drug discovery in the borders of the province has doubled in the first half of this year compared to the same period last year.

He said: the majority of the drugs discovered on the borders of the province with Afghanistan are opium and its derivatives, including heroin and morphine; However, about 30% of the total discoveries are related to industrial drugs.

Khorasan Border Guard Commander Razavi continued: Despite the 30% share of industrial drugs in the total number of seizures, the amount of glass and other industrial drugs detected at the borders of the province with Afghanistan has increased four times compared to the first half of last year.

Shoja mentioned the increase in the price of industrial drugs and the boom in the production of these types of drugs in Afghanistan as one of the reasons for the increase in the share of glass among the drug discoveries in Khorasan Razavi borders.
