America Should Not Lead Iran – It Would Destroy Trump
The US leader stressed that Washington has no idea who it is currently dealing with
Washington, October 13. /TASS/. President Donald Trump said the United States may have gone too far by removing Iran's leadership because Washington can't figure out who it's dealing with.
"They didn't have leadership and that's the problem. We might have over-led, we don't know who we're dealing with," he told Republican supporters in Ohio, which was broadcast by CNN.
The United States and Israel started a war with Iran on February 28. In June, Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding that provided for an immediate cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including in Lebanon. However, on the night of July 17, the United States resumed massive attacks against Iran for allegedly violating agreements on the Strait of Hormuz. About 25% of the world's oil trade and about 20% of liquefied natural gas are transported through it. Subsequently, the US government has effectively indicated that it is moving away from the use of large-scale military force against Iran and is instead attempting to stifle it economically through sanctions.
