The limited edition includes the original 1996 film in 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray, plus a digital copy and a collection of memorabilia modeled after the evidence of the fictional Woodsboro Police Department. The centerpiece is a replica of the bloody cordless phone used by Drew Barrymore's Casey Becker in the film's unforgettable opening sequence, which rings and delivers the film's memorable lines.
The original Scream movie, directed by Wes Craven and written by Kevin Williamson, was released in December 1996 and revived the slasher genre. The film starred Neve Campbell as Sydney Prescott alongside Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Skeet Ulrich, Matthew Lillard, Rose McGowan and Barrymore, whose brief but memorable appearance helped create one of the most recognizable opening sequences in horror history.
This release anniversary comes in the midst of an important year for the franchise, which returned to theaters with "Scream 7" in February. The final installment reunited Campbell with his longtime character Sidney Prescott and brought original screenwriter Williamson into the director's chair. The sequel debuted with a record $64 million at the domestic box office, becoming the highest-grossing installment in the series.
