Yazd- The public relations of the General Department of Environmental Protection of Yazd Province considered hand-made brick kilns as one of the important sources of air pollution in Yazd city and emphasized the necessity of moving these units to a suitable place.

According to Ambassador Arjan, citing the public relations of the General Department of Environmental Protection of Yazd province, brick kilns have been operating around Yazd since the past, but with the expansion of the urban area, many of these units have moved from the outskirts of the city to the urban boundaries and even close to residential areas.

According to this report, manual brick kilns cause air pollution in a wide range of surrounding areas due to the number of them around the city, the use of traditional production methods, the lack of pollution control equipment, and in some cases the consumption of inappropriate fuels, and they are one of the important sources of pollution in Yazd city.

This report adds: The environmental effects of manual brick kilns are not only limited to air pollution, but soil destruction and erosion and high consumption of resources and energy carriers, including water and gas, are other consequences of the activity of these units.

The public relations of the General Directorate of Environmental Protection of Yazd province listed the transfer of these units to suitable places as soon as possible and the use of new and environmentally friendly technologies as essential solutions to reduce pollution and emphasized the need for cooperation and efforts of officials and related institutions in this field.
