Pezeshkian: In My Seven-Hour Meeting with the Leader, I Proposed Forming a Specific Group to Take Responsibility for Selecting Managers and Assigning Posts Based on Merit and Competence / Anyone May Criticize Me, but Am I to Blame for Inheriting This Situation? What Should I Do Under These Circumstances? Whichever Problem You Touch, Somewhere It Causes Trouble / Am I Crazy to Reject a Correct Point?

The President, referring to his seven-hour meeting with the Supreme Leader, said: I told the Leader that a specific group should be designated to take responsibility for selecting managers and assigning posts based on merit, competence, experience, and accountability, rather than dependence on the President or others being the criterion for decisions.

Ambassador Arjan: Referring to the seven-hour meeting with the supreme leader of the revolution, the president said: I asked the leadership to select a group of people to take responsibility for choosing managers and handing over responsibilities based on merit, competence, experience and accountability, rather than depending on people's dependence on the president or others.

Today (Monday, October 20th), Massoud Mezikian emphasized in the ceremony of reopening the country's universities in the new academic year: Am I crazy to not accept the truth if I am told the right thing? Or will someone show me the right way and not accept it? There is no injustice higher than not accepting the truth.

Referring to the path taken in his personal life and the responsibilities he has assumed, the president said: I am standing here today, I was an ordinary student one day, then I became a doctor, I took charge of the university, I became a minister, and once I was an ordinary representative like other representatives. Now the heavy responsibility of the country is on our shoulders and we must try to solve the problems.

He stated: We can solve problems, provided we are together, join hands, see the peaks and strive to reach them. I may not reach those peaks, but there are those among us who will reach these peaks and can take others with them and reach that place.

Reminiscing about his student days, President Raeeshouri said: When we were students, we used to read different poems to motivate ourselves spiritually. One of these poems was like this, "If you are dead, you must walk in the midst of blood, you must walk when you have lost your feet, fallen down, you do not walk on the road and do not ask anyone, the road itself will tell you that you must go."

Emphasizing the necessity of moving in the direction of the goals and trusting in the path chosen for service, the doctor stated: Believe me, I never thought that I would reach the position where I am standing today, but with all our hearts, we wanted to work for the people, Iran, independence, honor and pride as much as we can. This was the goal that we were looking for with all our hearts and we were trying to move towards it.

Referring to the transportation costs of gasoline and its difference with the supply price, the President stated: Everyone knows that gasoline cannot be supplied at a price of 1,500 Tomans, while the cost of transporting it reaches 4,000 to 5,000 Tomans. That is, the gasoline that we transport and deliver to the destination costs about 5,000 Tomans, but we sell it at the price of 1,500 Tomans.

He stated that in such a situation, a solution should be found to bring the people together and solve their concerns, adding: We should be able to solve the problems and at the same time, bring the benefits of these decisions to all people based on justice. The issue is clear, but if we want to intervene suddenly, the whole society may be in turmoil.

Comparing social and economic reforms to the process of treating patients, the president said: I have said many times that in medicine, when we encounter a patient, we don't just give him a medicine, but we do various interventions to solve the problem. Among other things, in the field of blood vessels, muscle strength, pain control, mental state and dealing with infection, we act according to the patient's condition.

The doctor continued: The second point is that we should proceed gradually and give time so that the patient can tolerate the treatment process. If the dose of medicine we prescribe is too much, it may kill the patient and if it is less than the required amount, it will not be effective enough.

Emphasizing the necessity of continuous evaluation of the conditions to choose the right solution, he stated: we must make a decision based on the patient's condition; For this reason, it is necessary to monitor and evaluate his condition every day and then carry out the next intervention.

Stating that society is more complex than a human being, the president said: society is very complex and its problems cannot be solved with one prescription or one intervention. We have to take action from different aspects, with different interventions and gradually, so that we can find the right solution.

The doctor continued: If we want to make a quick and one-time decision to take action, this will create an expectation that the problem will be solved right away. While which disease is cured in an instant? This is an issue that we should pay attention to.

He thanked the academicians and students and said: I am proud and trust you dear ones. I believe that if academics and students enter the scene and come out of the university of science and research and form the university of action and will and take the field, we can solve the country's problems.

The president stated that from a religious point of view, I cannot accept that Iran is inferior to other countries, and added: When I see the situation of our country and see that other countries cannot accept these conditions, from a religious point of view, I cannot accept that we are inferior to others. None of us is less than anyone else; Only this view should be corrected. If we fix this view, we can reach the top and it is you academics and students who can bring such a view to the country.

Emphasizing that it should be determined who has the ability to enter the field and solve problems, the president clarified: What I say is a debate; The main debate is who can enter the field and what problem to solve. We will prepare the necessary bed and package for him.

The doctor continued: I don't want anyone to do research for me; There are solutions for existing problems as long as you want. Finding a solution is not difficult. Our problem is the lack of people who know, have skills and want to enter the field to solve problems.

Pointing out that some people may have the necessary knowledge but do not have the implementation skills, he said: It is possible that a person knows the solution, but does not have the skills to implement it; Or he has skills, but does not believe and does not want to do this work and prefers to work for himself. What is important is that we can strengthen the necessary determination, will and skills in universities to solve the country's problems.

Referring to the existing capacities in the country, the President stated: We have many facilities and we hope to turn the universities into third and fourth generation universities with the help of you academicians.

In another part of his speech, referring to the state of state-owned companies and government-managed complexes, Medeshian said: "Tomorrow, we have a meeting to examine what should be done for the companies that are under our control and are now making losses."

Criticizing the situation in which some companies are losing money despite having large capitals and their managers also receive significant bonuses, he said: Art wants a person to have several billion or several thousand billion tomans of capital and the company continues to make losses, and the people who caused these losses receive bonuses of several hundred billion or several hundred million tomans.

The President stated: We give extraordinary management to those who manage these collections, while we have to check how correct this management method is.

Referring to the formation of a group to examine how to determine the duties of the companies under the authority of the government, Medekian said: "We have a meeting tomorrow and a group has also worked on the issue of what action we should take and how to hand over the companies we have."

Referring to the amount of capital of state-owned companies and the so-called Khusulati groups, the doctor stated: We are determined to determine the duties of the companies we own. Nearly six to seven thousand companies are under the control of the government or the so-called Khusulati companies; It means about seven million billion tomans of capital.

Criticizing the management of some of these collections, he said: Despite such capital, we are still facing management problems. In these collections, people are deployed and do things, but the reality is that we have to check their performance. I don't want to talk more about it, but when I see what is happening, I feel that what is being done is not management.

The president emphasized: In order to properly use the country's capacities, both in the field of universities and in the field of company management, the field for the entry of capable people with skills and the will to solve problems should be provided.

Referring to the problems in the way of reforming the management, Medekian clarified: when we want to change a manager somewhere, they say that this person is connected to the president and you should not move him; For the appointment of another person, they say that it depends on another person and they do not allow the decision to be made based on the efficiency, knowledge and ability of people. This is one of the problems we are facing.

Referring to his meeting with the Supreme Leader of the Revolution and the seven-hour conversation with him, he said: I raised these issues in that meeting. I also shared these issues with our martyr leader. I said that managers should be allowed to be chosen based on merit, not that their dependence on the president or other people should be used as a decision criterion.

The President continued: It should not be allowed to object to the manager who is to be appointed from different places and prevent his election. We may want to appoint someone to a responsibility, but suddenly an issue is raised about him from the judiciary or elsewhere and they create an obstacle in the way of appointment.

Stating that criticizing the performance of the government in the current situation is not a difficult task, the doctor said: In such a situation, anyone who wants to criticize me can criticize me. But am I guilty of inheriting such a situation? What should I do in this situation? Anyone you want to touch will create a problem somewhere.

Referring to the necessity of creating a specific mechanism for the appointment of managers, he said: Dear Leader, I would like to request a group of people to be identified to take responsibility for selecting managers and assigning responsibilities based on merit, competence, experience and accountability.

Emphasizing that responsibility should be accompanied by accountability, the President added: Whoever accepts responsibility must be accountable for his performance. If I accept responsibility, I must answer tomorrow what I have done to increase productivity, improve efficiency and improve quality and where I have brought production.

The doctors clarified: It is not possible to entrust a responsibility to a person and then allow him to manage the group in any way and not achieve the desired result; The manager must be accountable for his performance and results.

He also criticized the way of paying salaries and benefits in the country's administrative system and said: When I think about these issues, I cannot accept that payments are made in this way and that people's salaries are the same regardless of the level of responsibility, performance and productivity. Why should the salary increase be the same for everyone? Why should someone be paid more and more benefits just because they are in a position? Where in the world do people get paid based on their position?

Emphasizing the necessity of connection between the responsibility and performance of managers, the president emphasized the need to review management mechanisms and payments.

Referring to the amount of assets and resources at the disposal of state and private companies, he said: We are determined to correct the situation of the companies we have. Nearly six to seven thousand hemats of resources and assets are at the disposal of state-owned and so-called Khusulati companies; It means about seven million billion tomans, but despite such resources, there are management problems in some of these collections.

He added: Some people are stationed in these complexes and do some work, some people come and sit there and do some work for themselves. Now I don't want to say anything. But not every type of administration of the collection can be considered as management. I know this is not good management; The issue is how we should go about the reformation.

In the end, again emphasizing the role of interventions in the inefficiency of the country's management system, Median said: to correct this situation, various interventions that prevent the selection of managers based on merit should be removed so that people take responsibility based on their ability, experience and performance and be accountable for their work results.
