Do you remember the DS brand? The French luxury company is still active and has proven with a new concept car that it has no intention of leaving the scene. The F3VER is a futuristic design study that was unveiled ahead of the 2026 Paris Motor Show and shows where the Stellantis-owned brand is headed.

According to Latest Auto, the DS isn't exactly in the spotlight when it comes to luxury cars, or even regular cars. For years, the brand has been trying to establish its identity beyond its Citroen roots and compete in a crowded segment where German luxury brands and Mini have already taken a significant distance. Now, with this concept car, it wants to distinguish itself with a bold design, the possibility of extensive customization and everyday use.

The new Fever car is not a preview of a confirmed production model. Instead, DS sees it as a design language that charts the brand's future direction. The aim is to show that the French automaker still has ambitions, even as Stellantis manages a wide portfolio of brands. However, it can be assumed that this car is a possible successor of DS 3.

The length of this car is 4.19 meters, width is 1.84 meters and height is 1.46 meters. Despite its compact dimensions, it has a powerful appearance. Its sculptural body, elongated lines and special proportions are designed to attract attention without the need for the exaggerated dimensions of many SUVs today. The attractiveness of the front window of the car is impressive in a different way. A central vertical element bearing the DS badge is the focal point of the design, flanked by Y-shaped lights that give the car a futuristic look. The rear also follows the same design language; With a central digital logo and multi-dimensional lighting that creates the feeling of a light tunnel.

The taillights consist of 16 LED panels mounted on a lightweight magnesium structure; A structure inspired by the arched ceiling of the Grand Palais in Paris. This optical signature is complex, but aims to create a lasting image.

DS has also developed an exclusive 'Cosmic Blue' color that changes between light blue and dark purple depending on the angle of the light. The two-tone design of the body goes beyond the roof and the contrasting color extends to the end of the car to make its shape more prominent. Even the roof trim is customizable, allowing buyers to add their own personal flair. The rims have a shiny appearance and a subtle “nails of Paris” pattern can be seen on them; A decorative pattern that shows the brand's attention to detail.

DS wants F3VER to be more than just a pretty design exercise. The car explores a futuristic concept where personalization becomes a core part of the car ownership experience, beyond body color and seat upholstery. In Audi style, the rear lighting system can display various animations, acting as both a visual signature and communication. DS envisions light becoming a language through which the car expresses its personality and interacts with the surrounding environment. The idea is brand new and ambitious, though the company has yet to explain how much of the technology could realistically go into production and how much customers would have to pay for it. Beneath this eye-catching design is what DS calls "Design Intelligence"; An approach that focuses on producing more with fewer parts. The goal is to simplify vehicle construction, reduce weight, improve aerodynamic efficiency and create smoother edges without sacrificing quality.

The concept car uses integrated light assemblies, one-piece bumpers and fewer plastic parts around the fenders, wheels and lower body. As they say, sometimes less really is more. These solutions not only give the F3VER a more cohesive look, but also simplify the manufacturing process when adapted to production vehicles.

Despite its dramatic and attractive appearance, the F3VER is designed for everyday driving. Its 2.70-meter wheelbase is considered for maximum cabin space, and the 400-liter trunk offers a good carrying capacity.

DS says the car combines the concept of urban agility with comfort and readiness for longer journeys, leisure activities and weekend getaways. However, the company is yet to reveal details about the engine, battery capacity, charging specifications or approximate range.

The brand describes the F3VER model as part of a new generation of electric vehicles and promises world-class performance. Without specific figures, it is impossible to know how competitive it will be against the famous electric rivals. The attractive concept of Fever is a corner of the company's vision. Distinctive lighting, extensive personalization options and a focus on different packages for customers show that DS wants to follow a more individual design path, rather than simply following popular trends.

Whether or not these ideas will translate into attractive production cars remains to be seen. For now, DS has reminded us that it's still in the game, and Stlantis has no plans to abandon the struggling brand. The next step is to make sure customers remember this when it's time to buy a new car.
