According to ICT News; In two separate events in October 2026, Amazon unveiled its new family of tablets called Alexa and two artificial intelligence gadgets under the Bee brand. Unlike the previous products, the new tablets use the Android operating system and have full access to Google Play.

Alexa tablets; Three models with Android and Google Play

Amazon unveiled its three new tablet models on October 7, 2026 (15 Mehr 1405): Alexa Tablet 12 Pro, Alexa Tablet 11, and Alexa Tablet 8. Unlike the previous generations that came with Fire OS, these products use the Android operating system and have full access to Google Play.

Alexa Tablet 12 Pro comes with a thickness of 6.5 mm, a 12-inch display with a density of 280 PPI, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and an aspect ratio of 3:2. The MediaTek Dimensity 8400 chip provides its processing power and its battery lasts up to 16 hours. The price of the standard version is $499.99 and the Nanomatte version with anti-reflective display is $549.99.

Alexa Tablet 11 comes with 11-inch 2.5K display, 90Hz refresh rate and 16:10 aspect ratio. The MT8189 chip is used in it and it has a 15-hour battery. The price of this model is set at $329.99.

Alexa Tablet 8 with an 8.7-inch screen, weight of 329 grams and MT8189 chip is the cheapest model of this family and is available at a price of $229.99.

Amazon has announced that the processing power of these tablets is almost three times and their graphic power is 9 times that of previous generations. The Alexa+ assistant is built into all three models and supports On-Screen Intelligence to analyze content on the screen.

Bee gadgets; Recording and summarizing conversations with artificial intelligence

On October 15, 2026 (23 Mehr 1405), Amazon unveiled two artificial intelligence gadgets under the Bee brand that record and summarize daily conversations.

Bee Frontier is a bracelet with an ultra-soft silicone band that can be attached to the wrist or clothing. This device is available at a price of $74.99 and its battery lasts up to 7 days. IP67 certification, two microphones with noise filter and USB-C port are other features. Bee Frontier has been available since October 15, 2026.

Bee Eclipse is a bank card-sized device that magnetically attaches to the back of your phone. This model is available for $99.99 and its battery lasts up to 21 days. The release date of this model has not yet been determined.

Both gadgets record and summarize daily conversations and have features such as appointment reminders and calendar events. These products integrate with Alexa+, Gmail and Google Calendar and also provide the possibility to suggest purchases from Amazon based on conversations.

Users must purchase a $11.99 monthly Bee Pro subscription for unlimited access to conversation logs, Alexa+ connectivity, Gmail, and Google Calendar. Free users have access to 14 days of storage.

Amazon emphasized that the audio files are not saved and the processing is done in real time and the sound is removed. Notes are encrypted with the user's private key.

Notably, the Bee gadgets are not available in Europe, as recording private conversations is a criminal offense in Germany and European privacy regulations do not allow these products to enter.

Quote from Andy Jesse, CEO of Amazon

"Bee's new devices turn your conversations into summaries, daily tasks and reminders so the details are available whenever you need them," he wrote on X Network.

The simultaneous introduction of Alexa tablets and Bee gadgets represents an important strategic shift in Amazon's approach. The company previously offered Fire tablets with a proprietary operating system and software limitations. But now with the adoption of Android and Google Play, it is making up for one of the biggest weaknesses of its previous products. This change can lead to the attraction of users who were looking for access to Google Play applications on the Amazon tablet.

Bee gadgets also show Amazon's determination to enter the wearable artificial intelligence market. By buying startup Bee, this company is competing with products like Humane AI Pin and Rabbit R1. Focusing on privacy and not saving audio files is an attempt to address users' concerns about recording private conversations.

However, the lack of availability of these gadgets in Europe limits Amazon's reach due to strict privacy regulations. Also, dependence of Bee gadgets on monthly subscription of $11.99 can be limiting for some users.

All in all, with these products, Amazon is diversifying its hardware portfolio and entering new markets. If these products can deliver on their performance promises, they could capture a significant share of the mid-range tablet and AI wearables market.
