IMF Projects 3.6% Growth for Iran's Economy

The IMF's latest figures show that Iran's economy, despite war and blockade, will emerge from recession in less than three months. The IMF's 3.6% growth forecast for Iran's economy first appeared on Safir Arjan.

According to Ambassador Arjan, the latest report of the International Monetary Fund, "Eyes on the World Economy", which was published a few minutes ago, has estimated Iran's economic growth in 2027 at 3.6 percent. Meanwhile, this international organization has announced that Iran's economic growth in 2026 will be minus 7.6 percent with less than three months to go. These figures mean that the economic growth of the country, which was attacked twice by the American-Israeli coalition last year, and this war continues both in the form of scattered attacks and in the form of economic blockade, will increase by 11.2 percent in a few months and come out of recession.

Iran's economic growth statistics in the past years

The prediction of this institution for Iran's economic growth before the attack on Iran in 2025 was about 0.6% and for 2026 about 1.1%.

In its previous reports, the fund announced that Iran's economic growth will be 3.7% in 2024, 5% in 2023, 3.8% in 2022, 4% in 2021, and 3.4% in 2020.

This rate was announced as minus 6.8 in 2019 and minus 6 in 2018.

According to this report, Iran's inflation rate this year is estimated at 78.6%, but this figure will decrease to 42% next year.

The International Monetary Fund has estimated the country's unemployment rate to be 9.2 percent this year, which is no different from the pre-war forecast, but its estimate for next year has been reduced to 9 percent.
