18 Goals in a Blue Shirt and Two Foreign Stars Chased/ Asani Becomes Esteghlal's 10th Asian Scorer

Yasser Asani scored a spectacular goal against Al-Gharafa, joining the top 10 scorers for Esteghlal in Asian competitions and moving one step closer to the club's record for foreign scorers.

According to "Verzeh Se", Yasser Asani's spectacular shot in Doha, in addition to paving the way for Esteghlal's victory, also improved the personal statistics of the Albanian star. With this goal, Asani increased his number of Asian goals with Esteghlal to six and in his 10th continental match for the Blues, he entered the top 10 scorers in the history of the club in Asia.

Last season, Asani scored four goals in eight matches of the Asian Champions League 2, and in the new season of the elite league, he has opened the gates of Al-Sad and Al-Gharafa. He is now ranked 10th in the list of Asian scorers of Esteghlal and on the same level as Kaveh Rezaei and Mehdi Qaidi. The next goal brings Easani to the group of seven-goal players along with Mama Baba Tiam, Alireza Vahedi Nikbakht and Alireza Akbarpour.

The goal against Al-Gharafa was the 18th easiest goal in all official matches with Esteghlal's shirt. With 23 goals, Kevin Yamaga is the closest player above Asani, and Sheikh Diabate, with 27 goals, is considered to be the scoring record among Esteghlal's foreign players. Asani is five goals away from Yamaga and nine goals away from equaling Diabate's record. By scoring another 10 goals, he will surpass both players and become the best foreign scorer in the history of the club.

Considering the many matches left until the end of the season and his easy scoring form in domestic and Asian competitions, breaking Diabate's record is not out of reach for him. The number 7 of Esteghlal is now leading the club's Asian scorer table and has the opportunity to record the most important goal scoring record of the Blues' foreign players in the first months of his second season.
