Ahvaz - Vice President of Plant Production Improvement of Khuzestan Agricultural Jihad Organization emphasized the necessity of adhering to the cultivation pattern in agricultural lands of the province by stating that contract cultivation is the main strategy of crop production.

According to Mehr reporter, Abbas Saki said this Tuesday morning in the meeting of the specialized sugar beet working group of the province, which was held in the presence of the Director General of Industrial Products of the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad, that contract cultivation has been put on the agenda as the main strategy of autumn sugar beet production, and all operators must adhere to their obligations in these contracts.

He added: All farmers are obliged to fully adhere to the notified cultivation pattern and register their land information accurately in the agricultural Jihad zoning systems in order to provide the possibility of accurate planning for the supply of inputs.

Khuzestan Agricultural Jihad Organization's Vice President of Plant Production Improvement emphasized the balanced geographical distribution of cultivation in the cities and explained: This action is done with the aim of preventing the spread of pests and plant diseases, as well as observing the principles of crop rotation in the province's farms.

Regarding the production horizon of this product in the province, Saki said: Khuzestan's macro target for autumn sugar beet cultivation in the 7th Development Plan has been set at around 60 to 65 thousand hectares, and the realization of this goal requires inter-departmental coordination and careful management of resources.

He stated: Considering the competition of sugar beet with other crops such as wheat and canola, increasing productivity and timely provision of agricultural inputs is considered as one of the main priorities of the organization in the upcoming planting season.
