Bethesda's classic tradition of updating their games to fix their past updates continues

Bethesda Patch Switch 2 The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered

Last month, Bethesda released a small update for the Switch 2 version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. This patch ended up making the open world RPG look much worse. (A tale as old as time... ) Now, a new update has been released for Oblivion on the Switch 2, which according to Bethesda, fixes the problem it had the last time it updated the port.

In late September, a small update arrived for Oblivion Remastered. No one expected much from the small update except for some minor bug fixes. However, players quickly started reporting numerous visual issues with the RPG after the patch, including ghosting and everything looking more blurry than before. Things were so bad that some players refused to allow their copy to be updated to avoid visual degradation. But things should get better now.

An update has just been released for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on Nintendo Switch 2 that fixes the global visual degradation issue discovered in the previous update. Thank you for your feedback and continued support!

On October 13, Bethesda released a new update for Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on Switch 2, confirming that it has fixed a "global visual" destruction issue discovered in the previous update.

According to players who have downloaded the new update, Oblivion on Switch 2 actually looks a lot better and looks more like it did before the September patch messed things up. Some even suggest that it might run a little better than usual. Interestingly, this patch is also apparently bigger than some expected, which makes me wonder what Bethesda did to cause the visual issues in the first place.
