Proposal to Pay Families 10 Million Tomans Monthly Instead of Commodity Package
A member of the Tehran City Council proposed paying families 10 million tomans per month instead of a commodity package.
According to the report of Ambassador Arjan Habib Kashani, in the 438th session of the Tehran Islamic Council, referring to the reconstruction of Azadi Stadium and three universities by the municipality based on the approval of the Article Five Commission, he stated: After the imposed war, the government allowed the Tehran Municipality to issue a permit to build up to two additional floors with special conditions. This density is different from the price of license issuance.
He also clarified: It is supposed that if someone makes a profit from the city, he should pay the money that the city will use to advance its work. In the February resolution, we approved everything that should be priced. After this resolution, the municipality implemented it in such a way that it is paid up to 1.5 times what is approved by the Article Five Commission.
Kashani said: The municipality calculated that the added value of these two floors in some areas such as Ajodaniye, where the price per meter is 1 billion tomans, will increase by 3.5 to 4 times. We want to help people with any political thinking and outlook, and whoever wants to become president and do something for the people, we kiss his hand.
Stating that the municipality accepted a lot of responsibilities, Kashani clarified: instead of giving 4 million tomans to babies and deciding on 12 items of goods, we can pay 10 million tomans per month to families for 6 months on a trial basis. We borrowed 10 Hamat from Shahr Bank and have decided on 2,800 items of goods. People's priority is not these 12 items and we can let them decide by paying this amount.
Ahmed Sadeghi stated in the 438th meeting of the Tehran Islamic Council that the zero inflation plan has nothing to do with urban development revenues and stated that the mayor of Tehran answered the concerns in the consultation meeting and if there was any remaining issue, it was raised in this meeting.
He added: I suggest that the mayor of Tehran attend the council to explain this matter and answer the ambiguities so that everyone knows that this issue has nothing to do with urban development revenues.
