GTA 6 Launch Trailer Makes Me Ready to Buy at Any Price
And launch an OOO for November 19.
If any video game is worth $100, it's Grand Theft Auto VI.
On Thursday, developer Rockstar Games ( Red Dead Redemption 2 , Bully ) released what it calls the "launch trailer" of its month-long masterpiece, the most anticipated video game in video game history.
The trailer opens with Jason "getting into trouble in the military" and wrecking someone's boat that definitely qualified for a boat loan. As for Jason, well, he says through a voiceover, “They don't give loans to people like me. And then Lucia calls her son from prison. The game is on.
Netflix's next big premiere is an "extended look" at "Grand Theft Auto VI."
The digital-only Grand Theft Auto VI is a car crash for physical media
Guns, cars and a very lucky iguana soon fill the screen. One unfortunate snake, one cash shower and one real shower later, the depth of the happy couple's Bonnie and Clyde relationship is revealed on screen. It's just them against World Vice City, all geared up for Justice's single, "Flower in a Hurricane." Ram Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.
The game's official synopsis from Rockstar, a label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc., says: “Jason and Lucia always knew the deck was stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy that spans the entire state of Leonidas - forced to rely on each other more than ever if they're going to make it out alive."

It took Rockstar eight years to develop GTA 6, which had more starts and stops than some of the game's smash vehicles. It cost the company $1 billion to $1.5 billion to build.
Grand Theft Auto VI is (finally) set to be released on November 19, 2026, which will likely be the biggest sick day in the history of the American workforce. (Players can begin the long process of preloading the behemoth game on November 12; there won't be a physical version of GTA 6.)
Two versions will be available: the base game costs $79.99 and the Ultimate version costs $99.99. Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition "enhances the experience" of the base game with "an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, clothing and action that spans all aspects of Jason and Lucia's story," according to Rockstar.
