US-Europe Four-Point Plan to End the Ukraine War

Washington and European countries are reviewing a plan to end the war in Ukraine, covering reconstruction, security guarantees, economic and energy cooperation, and a ceasefire along current frontlines.

Washington and European countries are considering a plan to end the war in Ukraine, which includes reconstruction of the country, security guarantees, economic and energy cooperation and a ceasefire on the current front lines.

According to Ambassador Arjan, quoted by Tass, Washington Post columnist David Ignatius reported, citing informed sources, that America and Europe are developing a joint proposal to resolve the war in Ukraine.

According to this report, the proposed plan has four main axes and is supposed to consider the economic and security interests of Ukraine and Russia as a basis for agreement on territorial issues.

Reconstruction of Ukraine is the first axis of this plan, and negotiators have asked Kiev to provide accurate estimates of reconstruction costs.

Security guarantees for Ukraine and Russia are the second axis of the plan; However, it is still unclear what security arrangements will be in place for Moscow.

The third axis is the economic integration of Russia, Ukraine and Europe through an energy agreement. One of the proposed proposals is to build or use a pipeline to transfer Russian oil and gas to Europe and divide its income between Russia and Ukraine. The plan will also determine Russia's long-term access to the European energy market and the timing of the lifting of economic sanctions.

Establishing a ceasefire along the current front lines is also the fourth axis of this proposal.

Washington Post reported that the diplomatic effort to advance this plan intensified during the recent meeting of American, European and Ukrainian negotiators in the state of Florida.
