Parliament's Support for Space Industry Development and Strengthening the Space-Based Economy Emphasized During Zanjan and Tarom MP's Visit to Iran Space Research Institute

According to ICT News, Dr. Mustafa Taheri, the representative of the people of Zanjan and Tarem in the Islamic Parliament, a member of the Industries and Mines Commission and a member of the Supreme Space Council, while attending the Iran Space Research Institute, met with Dr. Nader Makari, the head of this research institute, and discussed the solutions for the development of the country's space industry, the legislative and budgetary support of the parliament, and the use of the specialized capacities of this complex.

In this meeting, while presenting the "IranZim" system and explaining its capacities and capabilities, the role of space technologies and the data obtained from these technologies in promoting territorial management, supporting macro-decisions and responding to the needs of executive bodies was emphasized.

Also, the necessity of drafting and approving laws supporting the development of the country's space industry, strengthening the legal and financial infrastructure, and providing the basis for the growth of the space-based economy were discussed. Financial and budgetary support for the Iran Space Research Institute and strengthening the capacities of this complex to advance the national missions of the space industry were also among the issues that can be pursued in the plans of the Islamic Council.

In the following, it was emphasized on the necessity of effectively using the capacities of the private sector and providing the context for more active participation of companies and technology groups in the value chain of the space industry; An approach that can play an effective role in the development of the space services market, the commercialization of technological achievements, and the strengthening of the space base economy.

The topic of the integrated national platform "Earth Information Monitoring (Raz)" and the necessity of its special follow-up through interaction and inter-agency coordination were also among the other topics of this meeting. In this context, it was emphasized on the importance of synergy between relevant institutions and the use of specialized and technological capacities of the country to advance this platform.

Also, the need for executive bodies related to the field of crisis management to benefit from the specialized facilities, technical infrastructure and capabilities of the Iran Space Research Institute was noted. The development of inter-device cooperation and the use of spatial data and services can play a role in promoting territorial monitoring, improving preparedness against crises and supporting management decisions.

This meeting was held in order to strengthen the interaction between the Islamic Council and the Iran Space Research Institute, support domestic technological capabilities and develop the use of space technology in responding to the needs of the country.
