License Issued for Establishing a Technology Park in Lorestan
Khorramabad - Deputy for Economic Coordination at the Lorestan Governorate General announced the issuance of a permit to establish a technology town in the province.
According to the report of Shahabad Ambassador Arjan Omid Omid, in a meeting with economic activists of the province in the Lorestan Chamber of Commerce, referring to the implementation process of the President's trip, he said: so far, nearly 6.5 hemats of Rial facilities have been attracted for this trip, which has made Lorestan one of the leading provinces in attracting these resources.
Referring to the performance of private sector investors in the province, he added: Last year, about 28 new investments were made by the private sector in Lorestan, which shows the existing capacities for the development of economic activities.
The necessity of targeted support for less developed provinces
The deputy economic affairs coordinator of the Lorestan governor emphasized the need for a balanced distribution of investment opportunities in the country and stated: Iran's development is not possible without the simultaneous development of provinces, and the concentration of facilities in a few provinces cannot be the basis for the realization of sustainable development in all regions of the country.
Referring to the need of provinces such as Lorestan, Ilam, Kermanshah, Kurdistan, North and South Khorasan, and Sistan and Baluchistan for more support, Omid Shahabad said: These provinces need more targeted support according to their conditions to compensate for the infrastructural lags.
He continued: Attracting investors in privileged provinces is associated with different conditions; In some regions, investors choose the location of their project from among many opportunities, but in Lorestan, the presence of investors should be provided and the problems faced by their economic activity should be resolved by following up and holding specialized meetings.
The need to design special incentives for investment
The deputy economic affairs coordinator of Lorestan governor emphasized the necessity of using incentives that are suitable for the conditions of the province and stated: To attract investors, executive follow-ups alone are not enough and special incentives should also be considered.
He added: It is not possible to implement the same model used in the rich provinces for the industrial towns of Lorestan. Rather, less developed regions need support mechanisms that are appropriate to their economic and infrastructure conditions.
Lorestan Technology Town is waiting for land and financial resources
Referring to the plan to create a technology town in Lorestan, Omid Shahabad said: The permission to create this town has been issued for the province and follow-ups are being done to allocate suitable land.
He considered the provision of financial resources as one of the requirements for the realization of this plan and added: the implementation of the technology town needs financial resources and economic activists are also expected to help the province to realize this plan and develop related infrastructure.
Result-oriented support of industrial clusters
The deputy economic affairs coordinator of Lorestan governor also pointed to the capacity of the province's industrial clusters in the fields of stone, aquatic, honey, carpets and rugs, and plastic, and called for more support for these sectors.
He emphasized: supporting industrial clusters should be result-oriented and not limited to routine and repetitive activities; Rather, these supports should lead to strengthening economic activity, increasing production capacity and more effective use of existing capacities.
Pursuing the approval of the comprehensive plan of Borujerd Special Economic Zone
In another part of his speech, Omid Shahabad mentioned the situation of the Borujerd Special Economic Zone and said: The master plan of this zone is in the approval stages, but the process of reviewing it in the Supreme Council of Free Commercial-Industrial and Special Economic Zones has been prolonged.
He called for cooperation to speed up the approval of the comprehensive plan of the Borujerd Special Economic Zone and added: In addition to following the approval process, it is necessary to examine the possibility of the units located in this area benefiting from the benefits of the special economic zones until the approval process is finalized.
Referring to the existing infrastructure in the Borujerd Special Economic Zone, the deputy of economic affairs coordination of the Lorestan Governor noted: this zone has the necessary capacities such as customs, equipment and infrastructure, and providing the opportunity for the economic units located there to fully benefit from the benefits of the special zone can help to strengthen production and economic activities.
