Corn Contract Farming Program Launched in Khuzestan

Ahvaz – Deputy for Livestock Production Improvement at Khuzestan Jihad-e Agriculture announced the formation of a provincial working group on contract corn cultivation and the issuance of its operating guidelines.

Ahvaz - The vice president of improving livestock production of Khuzestan Agricultural Jihad announced the formation of the provincial working group for contract farming of corn and the notification of its instructions.

According to Mehr reporter, Abdul Amir Niromand said in a media interview this Thursday evening: contract farming is an effective solution to reduce the disharmony between production and the market, support producers and improve the process of product supply and sale, and creating a coherent relationship between farmers, input suppliers, support companies and buyers can provide the basis for more accurate planning of production and ensuring product sales.

Pointing to the need to complete the value chain, he added: One of the important axes of this meeting was the need to simultaneously pay attention to all stages of the corn value chain, from financing and production inputs to technical services, harvesting and purchasing the product, and the members of the working group emphasized that the realization of the goals of this model requires coordination between all effective factors.

Niromand explained: Considering the evolution of production costs and input prices, the need to review the previous cultivation patterns and examine the economic efficiency of grain corn production was taken into consideration so that planning can be done taking into account costs and market needs.

In the end, the Deputy Director of Livestock Production Improvement of Khuzestan Agricultural Jihad noted: The members of the working group were required to send their specialized proposals with the aim of completing the implementation plan, and the synergy of related institutions was emphasized for the effective implementation of contract corn cultivation in the province.
