Rodan - The representative of the people of East Hormozgan in the parliament, emphasizing the necessity of reviewing the pattern of agricultural water consumption, said: the water quota should be proportional to the water needs of gardens and the climatic conditions of tropical regions.

Rodan - The representative of the people of East Hormozgan in the parliament, emphasizing the necessity of reviewing the pattern of agricultural water consumption, said: the water quota should be proportional to the water needs of gardens and the climatic conditions of tropical regions.

According to Mehr reporter, Seyyed Abdul Karim Hashemi Nakhel Ebrahimi, on Friday evening, at the meeting to investigate the farmers' problems, which was held in the presence of provincial and national officials in the governorate of Rodan city, he expressed appreciation for the follow-ups of the head of the Rodan Greenhouse Growers' Association and said: the demand for resignation from the farmers shows the pressure and suffering that is being inflicted on them. We understand your situation and problems and appreciate your demands, but instead of blaming each other, we need to identify the source of the problems.

He added: From the first year, around the fourth month, a meeting was held to examine these issues and the problems of farmers were raised. These problems are not related to today and have existed since last year and even 10 to 15 years ago.

The representative of the people of East Hormozgan in the Islamic Council, referring to the balancing plan for water resources, said: It was explained in the previous meetings that this plan was approved by the Supreme Water Council, not the parliament; Therefore, the relevant officials should take action to correct it and we should also do the necessary follow-up.

The necessity of determining the pattern of water consumption according to the tropical climate

Emphasizing the need to determine the pattern of water consumption in the agricultural sector, Hashemi Nakhel Ebrahimi said: The Agricultural Jihad Organization should determine the pattern of consumption in tropical areas and announce the amount of water and electricity needed by different crops, including lemons, tomatoes, and eggplants, in the summer and winter seasons.

He continued: Based on this model, an average should be determined according to the conditions of the region so that farmers are not fined for consuming their products according to their actual needs. This model should also be developed with the participation and use of the opinion of the farmers themselves.

The representative of the people of East Hormozgan in the Islamic Council expressed his concern about the lack of concrete results in the meetings held and said: I am also worried that despite the holding of numerous meetings, no clear outcome has been achieved. Officials and representatives take time to attend these meetings so that a decision is made and action is taken to reduce the pain, suffering and problems of farmers.

Hashemi Nakhel Ebrahimi emphasized: The purpose of holding meetings is not just dialogue; Rather, we should reach a conclusion that solves the problems of the people.

Reducing the water quota does not match the real needs of farmers

Addressing the head of the Hormozgan Agricultural Jihad Organization, he demanded an answer to the demands raised by the farmers and added: "If the demands of the farmers are unreasonable, the reasons must be explained to us and the farmers." But if these demands are reasonable, solutions should be provided to solve the problems.

The representative of the people of East Hormozgan in the Islamic Council stated: The main problem of farmers in tropical regions is that the implementation of the balancing plan, with the current method, has caused them to be fined. While they do not have the possibility to reduce water consumption to the specified amount.

He continued: "Some farmers may cultivate more than the specified amount, but the main problem is that many farmers face fines due to the incompatibility of the consumption pattern and the quotas set in the exploitation licenses with the conditions of the gardens and lands they have owned in the past."

Hashemi Nakhel Ebrahimi stated that the allocated quota is not consistent with the water needs of gardens and agricultural lands and said: On the other hand, the increase in temperature and climatic conditions of the region has increased the need for water and farmers are forced to use water to preserve their crops.

He added: Even with the imposition of fines, farmers are forced to keep their motor pumps on and continue irrigation. As a result, they face fines and are under economic pressure due to the mismatch between their income and expenses.

Officials should listen to farmers' protest

Referring to the farmers' protest, the representative of the people of East Hormozgan in the Islamic Council pointed out: When a person feels that his voice is not heard and his pursuits are not successful, he protests and may utter words that are caused by the pressure of problems. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to people's demands and take practical action to solve them.

Addressing the officials present at the meeting, he said: You are the executive officials of the government and you must present a clear solution to the people. We also accompany in this path; Wherever there is a need to amend the law, it should be done, and wherever there is a violation in the Ministry of Energy, the Water Affairs Department or the Electricity Company, it should be dealt with.

Hashemi Nakhel Ebrahimi also criticized the performance of some departments of the electricity company and stated: I believe that part of the problems are due to the violation or indifference of some officials. In such a way that, in some cases, income takes priority over the problems caused to farmers. This situation must be corrected.

Warning about intensifying pressure on farmers

Referring to the issue of correcting problems in one of the meetings of Minab city, he said: In that meeting, the necessity of correcting these issues was also emphasized. Therefore, it is necessary for the authorities to act as soon as possible to solve the existing problems.

The representative of the people of East Hormozgan in the Islamic Council added: We should not allow the pressures caused by these conditions to cause more damage to the farmers. Their desire is to deal with problems and provide practical solutions.

Hashemi Nakhel Ebrahimi, in response to the demand for resignation raised by one of the attendees, also said: Mr. Madaghi, you are pointing out that I am not in charge of implementation and the responsibility of implementation is on someone else. However, I have gone to the minister about 20 times to follow up on this matter, and if the conditions are sufficient, we will continue the follow-up up to the impeachment stage to determine the status of the responsibilities and actions of the relevant institutions.

In the end, he emphasized: If the farmers are right, everyone should accept it. The implementation of resolutions should not lead to ignoring the rights of farmers, and if the implementation of a resolution is accompanied by problems, it is necessary to modify the implementation method and remove obstacles. The conditions of the farmers are difficult and the officials should provide a suitable solution to meet their demands, taking into account the climatic and economic realities of the region.
