McKenna Grace has long been a fan favorite to play Gwen Stacy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Now the actor of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping has spoken about the possibility of joining the Spider-Man series and playing the role of the popular character.

After playing the young Carol Danvers in 2019's Captain Marvel, McKenna Grace went on to appear in notable films such as The Handmaid's Tale and Ghostbusters: Afterlife. He will also star in upcoming projects including The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping and Scooby-Doo: Origins.

Grace's name has been mentioned many times among possible options to play various characters in superhero movies, and Gwen Stacy is one of the roles that fans regularly suggest her for. Now, the actor has finally opened up about his interest in joining the Spider-Man series as the character.

Grace said about the possibility of playing the role of Gwen Stacy:

Whenever fans suggest me for such roles, I usually get the same roles. Oh my God, of course I love it! Playing such a role can be the dream job of any actor.

Grace looks similar to this character and has the necessary acting ability to properly portray her; Whether she appears as Gwen Stacy or plays Spider-Gwen. Her name was previously floated to play the role of Felicia Hardy, aka Black Cat, but those speculations ended up being nothing more than internet rumors before the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

In the Marvel Comics universe, Peter Parker met Gwen Stacy when he was a student at Empire State University. They did not have a very friendly relationship at first, but gradually love developed between them, and Gwen soon became the greatest love of Spider-Man's life.

Gwen's fate was tragic; The Green Goblin kidnapped him and eventually killed him, although Peter Parker's attempt to save him may also have played a role. Peter later dated and even married Mary Jane Watson, but Gwen is still considered by many to be Spider-Man's true love.

Despite Gwen's death on Earth-616, a younger version of the character is introduced in the form of a multiverse counterpart named Ghost Spider. Commonly known as Spider-Gwen or Spider-Woman, the character gained widespread popularity among mainstream audiences with the lead role played by Hailee Steinfeld in the Spider-Verse animated series.

Marvel Studios doesn't necessarily have to go the Spider-Gwen route, and Gwen Stacy's entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe could be an opportunity for Peter Parker to move past his relationship with MJ. However, the ending of Spider-Man: Brand New Day gave hints that Peter and MJ's relationship may not be over yet.

On the other hand, Gwen Stacy is going to play an important role in the second season of the animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. This shows that Marvel Studios is very interested in this character. McKenna Grace, who is currently 20 years old, can also be a good choice to play this role in future projects.
