The novel "Ghadeh al-Saman" and the war in the Middle East led me to make a short film
The director of "Shabi Dar Watan" said: This film is an adaptation of a Lebanese novel written by Ghadeh Al-Saman. While reading the novel, I came across an image in the sixth story that caught my attention; Pulling up the basket of a person who was caught in the battlefield. He explained about the formation of the idea of "A Night in the Homeland": This film is an adaptation of a Lebanese novel written by Ghadeh Al-Saman. While reading the novel, I came across an image in the sixth story that caught my attention; Pulling up the basket of a person who was caught in the battlefield. This image became an attractive motif for me and I decided to use it as a basis for writing the script. On the other hand, due to the years of conflict in the Middle East with war, this issue was also my personal concern and this issue made me focus more on it. The director said about the theme of the film: "A night in the homeland" is about middle-aged people who unintentionally got involved in an unequal war and lost their children during it; People who are now left alone and forgotten. I wanted to remind that before power, money and anything else, we should prioritize people, especially innocent people who suffer and are forgotten during the war regardless of their age. Seyed Azizi also said about the role of adaptation in the formation of the script: adaptation can act like the chain of a rosary; It provides the story line and the main events to the filmmaker, and it is his art to be able to connect and portray the elements of the story in the script and direction. I believe that literature has a great capacity to increase the richness, coherence and catchiness of the screenplay and can help the filmmaker to express his idea and point of view better.
