Following the experience of being kidnapped by a small yellow taxi, something dawned on me: I need a means of escape. The trauma of my kidnapping experience cannot be repeated. I have installed Eject for Grand Theft Auto 5, a mode that allows you to eject from vehicles in an instant.

The mod's description reads: "A simple and fun script that lets you jump out of vehicles and parachute down" - a claim that's 50% true. You can actually jump out of vehicles with the push of a button, but the bottom part of the parachute jump is more like a steep drop. We do.

Mod defaults are rather anemic. Its "force" setting is 150. What is 150? No idea, but that's a small number, so I immediately increased it to 10,000. I also tried pushing it to 100,000 which made the game seem to crash on startup.

And then, off I went, cruising the streets of Los Santos in my shiny car at night (sometimes during the day) and hitting the exit key to get out. This mod doesn't quite master motion preservation, so my attempts to, for example, jump over an overpass and land safely in my car mostly failed. And by most I mean absolutely.

Still, it allowed me to do it, so I'd call it a mixed success.
