Transferring the Qomi dialect to the next generation is a valuable heritage to preserve the native identity

Qom- Qom artist and film and television actor emphasized the necessity of preserving local dialects and said: passing on the Qom dialect to children is an effective measure to protect the linguistic heritage and cultural identity of future generations.

According to Mehr reporter, Seyyed Majid Razovian on Tuesday evening in the unveiling ceremony of the registration of the Qomi dialect, referring to the importance of preserving the natural and cultural heritage of the country, considered native dialects as part of the valuable capital of the society's identity and emphasized the need for families to pay attention to the transfer of this heritage to the new generation.

Stating that Iran has diverse natural and cultural capacities, he said: Just as the Hyrkan forests and the elite forests of Mazandaran are among the country's valuable assets and the issue of their national registration is being considered, the maintenance and protection of these resources should also be followed seriously.

Referring to the place of local dialects in the cultural identity of the people, this Qommi artist added: Native dialects are also valuable like natural and historical heritage, and their preservation requires the attention and participation of families and the transfer of this cultural asset from one generation to another.

Referring to his personal experience in the field of learning and performing the Qomi dialect, Razovian said: Some of the words and tone of this dialect that I had learned in the past still remain in my mind, but with the passage of time and the limitation of the vocabulary, I had to refer to the written sources and the works of the masters of this field to recover some of these words.

Appreciating the scientific and cultural efforts of the professors and researchers of local dialects, he honored the memory of Professor Farsad and said: referring to written works and benefiting from the knowledge of people who have done research in this field can help to preserve and recognize the vocabulary and capabilities of local dialects.

Passing the Qomi dialect on to our children

Emphasizing the role of families in the survival of the Qomi dialect, this film and television actor said: The basic question is that despite having such a valuable linguistic capital, why do we not pass it on to our children and allow the connection of the new generation with a part of the linguistic heritage of their family and hometown to fade?

Referring to the importance of the oral transmission of culture and language, this Qomi artist noted: local dialects are the result of a valuable collection that has been handed down to us through the generations and it is appropriate to leave this heritage to our children with care and attention.

Razovian emphasized: If families are diligent in using the native dialect on a daily basis and teaching it to their children, the next generation will be introduced to the local vocabulary and way of speaking, and this cultural capital can continue to be present in people's lives.

Preserving the dialect is part of our identity

In another part of his speech, referring to the necessity of paying attention to the cultural capacities of Qom province, he stated: Qom dialect is a part of the cultural assets of the people of this city, and paying attention to it can provide the basis for preserving the connection of new generations with the linguistic and cultural background of Qom families.

This movie and television actor stressed the importance of recording, recognizing and transferring these words by emphasizing that some of the words and nuances of local dialects may be less used over time.

Rezaviyan also appreciated the artists who strive to preserve and introduce the cultural and artistic capacities of Qom, and emphasized the value of the activities of people who, in addition to artistic activity, feel responsible for the city and the cultural heritage of their hometown.
