Farmers Urged to Avoid Uprooting Shrubs and Burning Rangelands

An agricultural meteorology expert said that, given the weather conditions, farmers should refrain from damaging rangelands, uprooting shrubs, and setting rangelands on fire.

According to Arjan's ambassador, Parvin Rafiei, an expert in agricultural meteorology, emphasized the observance of health principles in fruit harvesting and storage and said: Considering the weather conditions, farmers should take timely measures to combat the disease of cored trees in the fall.

According to him, despite the possibility of lightning, ranchers should avoid moving and grazing livestock in the highlands, and nomads should avoid temporary settlement in riverbeds, canals, and seasonal waterways.

Emphasizing on checking the strength of greenhouse structures and protection of agricultural tools against strong wind, Rafiei said: Due to the wind, farmers should be careful in applying foliar and pesticide.

Emphasizing the prevention of destruction and burning of pastures, he said: the management of river bed and privacy should be on the agenda to prevent floods and possible damages.

Emphasizing the regulation of regular irrigation of citrus fruits and vegetables, the agricultural meteorology expert said: due to the trend of decreasing temperature, accelerating the harvest of the remaining crops such as grapes, peaches, nectarines, and pears, as well as setting the regular irrigation cycle of citrus fruits and vegetables should be on the agenda.

According to meteorological maps, during Wednesday and Thursday in the north-west, west, center, slopes of central Alborz and Zagros, showers and thunderstorms and temporary strong winds are expected in some hours. Today, in the northwest and west, strong wind blowing with rising dust is expected in some hours.
