Discovery of more than 2 thousand billion tomans worth of smuggled goods in Bushehr province

The head of economic security police of Bushehr province announced the discovery of smuggled goods worth more than 2,247 billion tomans this year and announced that more than four million liters of smuggled fuel were also detected in the province.

According to Ambassador Arjan Bushehr, combating the smuggling of goods and currency, protecting the national economy and facilitating legal trade are among the important activities of the security, law enforcement and executive agencies of Bushehr province. An issue that the development of control equipment and continuous monitoring of transportation axes plays a role in its advancement.

Colonel Abdul Reza Baziari, the head of economic security police of Bushehr province, referring to the launch of new equipment in the province's bottlenecks, said: With the support of the province's administration and with the aim of accelerating legal trade and supporting economic activists, the advanced X-ray detector system has been unveiled and launched at the Shahid Salahi stop and inspection center in Dashtestan.

He added: Before the launch of this system, the inspection of cargo in this axis was done in traditional ways, but now with the use of new technology, the time of goods inspection has been reduced to less than one minute.

The head of economic security police of Bushehr province expressed hope that the use of this advanced equipment will play an effective role in preventing goods smuggling and facilitating the movement of law-abiding economic activists.

Referring to the situation of fuel smuggling in the southern regions of the province, Baziari stated: An increase in fuel smuggling has been observed in the south of the province in recent months. Part of this fuel is imported from outside the province using formal documents and tankers, and another part is inside the province, including some fuel stations in the southern regions.

He announced the establishment of the southern base to deal with these violations and said: In the past month alone, nearly 700,000 liters of fuel have been discovered in this area.

The head of economic security police of Bushehr province, emphasizing the continuation of round-the-clock surveillance on transportation axes and different parts of the province, said: Since the beginning of this year, more than four million and 191 thousand liters of smuggled fuel have been discovered in the province.

According to him, one million liters of the discovered fuel was delivered to the province's oil products distribution company and the rest was classified as lost fuel based on Article 58 of the law.

Referring to the statistics of the discovery of contraband goods, Baziari stated: The value of all kinds of contraband goods discovered in Bushehr province since the beginning of this year has been estimated at more than 2,247 billion tomans, equivalent to about 2.2 hemats.

He also announced the discovery of 57 smuggled motorcycles that were kept in one of the places and their value was declared to be around 61 billion Tomans.

In the end, the head of economic security police of Bushehr province emphasized: dealing with the smuggling of goods and fuel is one of the main priorities of the police, and the transportation axes of the province are controlled with operational planning and round-the-clock monitoring to identify violations and prevent smuggling.
