Unlike Manchester City, PSG Is Not in Danger / Qataris Were Far Shrewder Than Emiratis!

Reports in French media show that, contrary to claims, Paris Saint-Germain will not suffer the same fate as Manchester City.

According to Sports 3, while Manchester City's legal troubles have drawn the media's attention to financial violations by sponsors, French media studies show that Paris Saint-Germain will not face the same fate as its critics think.

With Manchester City in the English Premier League's legal battle over unconventional financial deals, it was only natural that eyes turned to the French club and Qatari investors. Since the transfer of ownership of the club to the Qatar Investment Company in 2011, the Parisians have signed heavy business contracts with Qatar Airways, Oreo, Visit Qatar and Qatar National Bank. But the report of Radio RMC Sport shows that there are significant substantive differences between the situation of Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City.

Unlike the Manchester City case, where the accusation of fraud and manipulation of the real figures is the main part of it, all the contracts of Paris Saint-Germain have been under the microscope of UEFA's financial control body many times in recent years and their valuations have been adjusted.

For example, in 2014, the value of the team's image rights contract with the Qatar Tourism Organization was reduced from 200 million euros to 100 million euros after UEFA's review. In 2018, in a number of other contracts, the amount claimed by the club was reduced by UEFA, and Paris Saint-Germain recorded the loss of these strict assessments in its financial books at the same time and continued to operate under the full supervision of UEFA.

Another important point is that the income from Qatari companies has not been the main pillar of the Paris club's economic structure for some time. In the past years, Paris Saint-Germain has diversified its financial resources by developing business activities and global stores.

As a result, the accusation of organized fraud based on inflated contracts against this club, unlike the current crisis of Manchester City, does not have a strong legal basis.
