EXCLUSIVE: Select Management Group, the next-generation talent management company, today announced that talent booker, veteran producer, and strategic partnerships leader Jami McGuigan has joined the Select Canada team as Director of Talent.

McGuigan will help grow the company's presence in Canada and enhance its efforts to nurture the next generation of Canadian talent. His work will focus specifically on digital chat programs and format builders, helping clients develop original programming and build partnerships with brands and media companies.

McGuigan adds that Select continues to expand its Canadian footprint following the January launch of the Toronto office, the company's first international location. He brings clients including Michael Mendita and Roxy Nafusi. Prior to joining Select, McGuigan worked with top media and entertainment properties including Comic Relief, Equality Now, and Bell Media on talent booking, strategic partnerships, and show development. Prior to that, he spent nearly a decade on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, booking and producing musicals, and worked on video productions of Broadway at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Earlier in his career, McGuigan helped book and produce events in the Dick Clark series, including the Golden Globe Awards, the American Music Awards, the Academy of Country Music Awards, and Dick Clark's Rockin' New Years. As a producer, his work has contributed to Emmy, Peabody, and Webby Award-winning productions.

"Jamie has spent her career at the intersection of talent and entertainment, and she brings an incredible network and understanding of the industry to Canada's Choice," said Carolyn Nardilla, partner of Choice Management Group and president of the East Coast. We are excited to have him help us discover and expand opportunities for the next generation of Canadian talent as we continue to grow our presence in the market.

Since launching in January, Select Canada has grown from 20 to more than 40 creators on its talent roster. The Toronto office provides on-the-ground representation and support in 360 talent management and brand partnerships, while connecting Canada's next generation talent to Select's broader network across North America.

While traditional agencies have moved increasingly into the creator economy over time, with film and television as mainstays, Select's early expertise came in the creator space. They are best known for representing the stars of The Secret Life of Mormon Wives, and producing the original Hulu show and its upcoming spinoff Orange County, which premieres November 12.

Promote Management's selection is part of the family of content companies, which includes Artists First, Authentic Talent & Literary Management, Parker Management and Sway Social, among others. In July, they announced the promotion of Director of Talent Paul Luckenbaugh to the newly created role of Head of Theatrical Talent, reflecting their growing investment in filmed entertainment, amid a growing convergence of traditional and creative talent across the industry.
