RDF Plan Could Cut Gharb Cement's Gas Consumption by 15%
Kermanshah – The Governor of Kermanshah stressed the need to remove executive obstacles and accelerate completion of the project to produce alternative fuel from waste at the Gharb Cement plant.
Kermanshah - The Governor of Kermanshah stressed on removing implementation obstacles and speeding up the completion of the alternative fuel production plan from waste in the Gharb cement factory.
According to Mehr reporter, on Thursday evening, Kermanshah Governor Manouchehr Habibi, in a meeting with the officials of West Cement Factory and managers of related executive bodies, requested the cooperation of the responsible groups to accelerate the implementation of the alternative fuel production plan from waste (RDF).
Referring to the capacity of this project in waste management and energy supply of industries, he said: the implementation of RDF plan, in addition to reducing part of the waste buried and left in nature, can help reduce fuel consumption in West Cement Factory, and for this reason, it is of national importance.
The governor of Kermanshah, referring to the estimate of the project managers, added: It is expected that with the use of this project, the natural gas consumption of the West Cement Factory will decrease by about 15%. The capacity that can help to improve the fuel supply situation of this industrial unit in the condition of energy imbalance.
Criticizing the prolongation of the process of removing some executive obstacles, Habibi stated: the inconsistency between the institutions should not hinder the progress of projects that are effective in reducing energy consumption, organizing waste, and improving environmental conditions. The municipality and other responsible institutions must perform their duties in the shortest possible time and determine the remaining issues.
Referring to the project's need for energy supply to continue the implementation, he said: "It has been decided that the electricity and gas companies will cooperate to meet the needs of this project until November 23, so that the implementation process can be followed without interruption."
The governor of Kermanshah continued: After the progress of the project and its operationalization, it is possible to pursue more support from the ministries of energy and oil and related companies. According to him, if the predicted saving in gas consumption is realized, the experience of implementing this project can be used in other cement factories in the country.
Habibi also emphasized on determining the task of constructing a solar power plant with a capacity of 6 megawatts in the West Cement Factory and added: The implementation status of this project should be determined by the end of the month and the necessary measures to start its operation should be on the agenda.
In the end, he considered it necessary to coordinate and accelerate the actions of the executive bodies to remove the obstacles of the RDF project and provide the basis for the start of the solar power plant project, and he emphasized on pursuing these projects with the aim of saving energy, managing waste and supporting production.
