Abarghouei: The Pitch Was Not in Good Condition; I Apologize to Fans
KHORRAMABAD - Tehran Persepolis defender said the Takhti Stadium pitch was not in good condition and apologized to fans.
According to Mehr reporter, Hossein Abargouinejad, on Wednesday evening after the goalless draw against Khyber Khorramabad, in the group of reporters, while appreciating the hospitable people of Khorramabad, he described this match as a good and timely match and considered the poor quality of the Takhti stadium as one of the factors affecting the course of the game.
Abargouinejad stated: I say to both teams, don't be tired and I thank the hospitable people of Khorramabad for embarrassing me personally. It was a very good game and we went step by step with the opponent. We had many good chances, but unfortunately we couldn't use them.
Referring to the condition of the Takhti stadium, he added: Although it was a good game, the quality of the field was not suitable at all. I think that in the scene where Bifuma was in, the poor conditions of the field made us unable to score.
Persepolis defender's reaction to Khadimpour's statement
In response to a question about the words of Sina Khadimpour, who said that Persepolis was lucky not to lose in Khorramabad despite having many players, the defender of Persepolis said: His opinion is respected, but I think he is wrong. We had several one-on-one opportunities in this match that we didn't use. I don't know, maybe he didn't see the match between Khyber and Persepolis or he watched another match.
Apologies to Persepolis fans for the draw
In response to a question about Persepolis' failure to score and not taking advantage of opportunities, Abargouinejad said: Some days the ball doesn't enter the goal. The players tried their best, but the result was not what we wanted.
He continued: I apologize to our fans; They deserve the best. I apologize to them for only getting one point and hopefully we can make up for it in the coming weeks.
Abargouinejad: I respect the decision of the technical staff
In the end, the defender of Persepolis said about returning to the team and the opportunity to be on the field: Whether I play or not depends on the opinion of the technical staff and I fully respect their decision. My job as a player is to train well, get proper rest and do my job properly whenever I get a chance to play.
