Fourth Memorial for the 'Blood of the West' Martyrs to Be Held in Yazd

YAZD – The head of the Resistance Literature Office at Yazd Province's Art Center announced that the fourth memorial for 28 martyrs of the October 13, 1983 incident on the western front will be held at the Amir Chakhmaq Husseiniyah in Yazd.

Yazd- The head of the sustainability literature office of Yazd province announced the holding of the 4th commemoration of the 28 martyrs of the 21 Mehr 1362 incident in the western front of the country, in Hosseinieh Amirchakmaq, Yazd.

In an interview with Mehr reporter, Abbas Gholami, referring to the holding of this ceremony as "Blood Martyrs of the West", said: "This memorial will be held in order to commemorate the memory of 28 Gharib martyrs of the Western Front who were martyred in an operation in Kurdistan, tonight, October 21, at 19:00 at Hosseinieh Amirchakmaq, Yazd."

He added: In this ceremony, Hojjat-ul-Islam Mohammad Taqi Vakilpour will give a speech and narrate, and Haj Mehdi Selahshor will also give a eulogy.

Explaining the events of that time, Gholami clarified: On October 21, 1362, coinciding with the 6th of Muharram, a group of Basij Yazdi youths clashed with anti-revolutionary elements in the villages of "Nir" and "Tangisar" in Kurdistan province during their deployment to the Western Front.

He added: In this incident, a number of fighters were martyred and a number of others were martyred under severe torture after being captured by the agents of the Democratic group, which is a document of the crimes of the terrorist groups at the beginning of the revolution.

The head of the Yazd province art district's sustainability literature office stated: This memorial is organized by the efforts of the families of the great martyrs of the Western Front and with the participation of the art district of Yazd province, the cultural, social and sports organization of the municipality, the Martyr and Martyrs Foundation, the General Directorate for the Preservation of Works and the Publication of Sacred Defense Values, Al-Ghadir Corps Mobilization, Yazd Central Broadcasting and Islamic Propaganda Coordination Council.
