The low rate of economic participation, especially among the women of Ilam

Ilam- The governor of Ilam announced the low rate of economic participation, especially among the women of this province.

According to Mehr reporter, Ahmed Karmi said at the meeting of the Public Culture Council of Ilam Province at Ilam University on Saturday morning: The development of the province should be based on the accurate knowledge of the capacities, the use of the scientific power of the universities and attention to economic and social issues, and in the meantime, creating job opportunities for young people and graduates is of particular importance.

Referring to the low rate of economic participation in the province, especially among women, he added: "In Ilam, we are facing the unemployment of graduates who have studied in prestigious universities of the country, and this issue doubles the necessity of serious planning to attract investment and create employment."

Stating that the post-war reconstructions were mainly focused on physical infrastructure, the governor of Ilam clarified: economic reconstruction according to the capacities of the province was not done enough, and large public and private investments could not take place in Ilam as it should.

Kerami considered agriculture and tourism as drivers of the province's development and said: We must use the existing capacities for economic prosperity, increasing employment and reducing the livelihood concerns of families.

Emphasizing the role of universities in formulating development plans, he added: The province's development document has been compiled with the cooperation of Ilam universities, taking into account the land preparation document and the 7th development plan, and social and cultural issues are also considered in this plan.

Referring to the neighborhood-oriented approach in the 14th government, Karmi said: Returning to the mosque and strengthening its role in the neighborhoods can help increase social capital and people's participation in cultural, social, economic and construction decisions.

He added: A total of 486 neighborhood councils have been formed in the cities and villages of the province and this capacity should be used to strengthen people's participation and promote local programs.

Referring to the cultural and social capacities of the province, the governor of Ilam said: Ilam has about 37,000 organized athletes and 30,000 artists and craftspeople, and taking advantage of these capabilities requires planning, supporting and strengthening cultural, artistic and sports credits.

Pointing to the fact that the province has about 430 kilometers of common border and hosts more than eight million pilgrims annually, Kerami said: In addition to its important role in the movement of pilgrims, Ilam can become a cultural corridor at the national and regional levels and provide the basis for the export of Islamic culture to neighboring countries and Central Asia.
