In the meeting "Taking advantage of the capacity of the private sector in the development of the child's digital ecosystem", which was held on the occasion of Children's Week, with the presence of representatives of trade unions and activists in this field, and with the cooperation of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the proposal to form a "Joint Commission for the Child's Digital Ecosystem" was agreed upon.
According to ICT News; This commission is formed with the aim of creating a mechanism for the organized participation of trade unions, proposing common issues and pursuing solutions for the development of the child's digital ecosystem.
In this meeting, which was held with the presence of representatives from the Chamber of Commerce, the Computer Trade Union Organization, the Virtual Business Union, the Internet Business Association, the Online Audio and Video Union, and the Venture Investment Association, the attendees emphasized the importance of the child's digital ecosystem, and emphasized the need to provide a basis for more coherent dialogue and participation of trade unions and private sector activists.
Based on this, the proposal to create a joint commission to discuss the issues and needs of the child's digital field, exchange expert views and develop follow-up proposals was approved.
In this meeting, the issue of children's digital ecosystem was discussed from various dimensions, such as the need for children to access age-appropriate services and content, and the need of families for care tools and increasing digital literacy.
The attendees also emphasized the importance of paying attention to the actual conditions of children's use of digital services and a more detailed understanding of the needs and challenges of this field.
One of the themes raised was the need to use the specialized capacity of different actors to better understand the state of the child's digital ecosystem. In this context, topics such as the role of platforms in providing services to children, the possibility of using aggregate data to understand the needs and patterns of use, and paying attention to the cultural and social aspects of digital services were discussed.
The diversity of these issues and their connection with different areas of private sector activity highlighted the necessity of creating a platform for exchanging views and pursuing common issues among trade unions. Based on this, the proposal to form a joint commission for the child's digital ecosystem was agreed upon as a mechanism to organize these discussions and turn the issues raised into specific and follow-up proposals.
Considering the diversity of actors and areas of activity in the digital ecosystem of children, while the representatives of the trade unions agreed to create a joint commission, the possibility of the presence of other trade unions in the composition of the commission was predicted so that the expansion of members could help in more communication between different parts of the ecosystem in the private sector and a more comprehensive reflection of the issues and views of activists in this field.
In the end, it was decided that the present organizations should present their proposals about the composition of the commission members in order to provide the basis for the formation of this joint mechanism and the start of its activity.
