Russian diesel price for US conditional on trade talks: Novak
Russia's Deputy Prime Minister also stressed that at present only diesel supply is under discussion, and no negotiations are underway on other goods.
Moscow, October 15. /TASS/. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters on the sidelines of the Russian Energy Week (REW) meeting: "The price of Russian diesel fuel for the American market is the subject of trade negotiations."
"That's a matter of trade negotiations," Novak said when asked if diesel prices for the U.S. are based on market benchmarks or include rebates.
In response to a question about the possible extension of the license after April 2027, the Deputy Prime Minister noted: Currently, such negotiations are not underway, and it is probably too early to say about the extension, and we will see how the situation will go.
Novak also emphasized that at the moment only the supply of diesel fuel is being discussed and no negotiations are being conducted on other goods.
Earlier, Novak told TASS that Russia will immediately lift the restrictions on diesel exports ahead of schedule, noting that the country is the main supplier of fuel to the world market. Russia is ready to supply more diesel to the US market and all its partners - 300,000 tons in October, 500,000 tons in November and 1 million tons in December, with a potential volume of up to 3.5 million tons per month in the future.
The Russian Energy Week international forum will be held in Moscow on October 14-16 with the support of the Russian government, the Ministry of Energy and the Moscow city government. The event is organized by the Roscongress Foundation, with TASS serving as the forum's information partner.
