Lavrov: Russia has not received any official proposal on a 'peace plan' for Ukraine

Russia's foreign minister commented on media reports about the preparation of a US and European 'peace plan' for Ukraine.

Baku, October 15. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told reporters: Russia has not received any official proposal regarding the so-called Ukrainian peace plan.

After participating in the 7th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Baku, in response to a question published by the United States and Europe about the reports published by the United States and Europe on media preparedness, he said: "We have definitely read the reports of the Washington Post, New York Times and other sources, because it is currently being widely circulated. But we have not received any official proposal." Plan" for Ukraine.

"If we go by what has been revealed to the press, there are four points. The latter calls for an immediate ceasefire along the line of engagement. "There are no ideas in the revelations I've seen about how to move towards long-term, lasting peace rather than a ceasefire that is inevitably being violated by Ukraine and its European allies."

In this regard, Lavrov added that the Western press is "basically made up of leaks and rumors."

The Washington Post, citing sources, previously reported that Washington and Brussels are working on a joint peace proposal that would bring financial and security benefits to Russia and Ukraine, as well as pave the way for resolving territorial disputes. Based on this article, the draft agreement includes four articles and includes a proposal for Russia to conclude security and economic agreements with Europe, which forms the basis of regional stability.

The newspaper noted that the diplomatic impetus to develop a new settlement plan came from a meeting in Florida attended by US, European and Ukrainian negotiators.
