Laufey's $150 God of War Collector's Box Revealed, No Game

God of War Laufey is the next big game to get a collector's box without the game itself.

After GTA 6, Laufey's God of War is the next big game to get a collector's box without the game itself.

Sony has unveiled the God of War Laufey Collector's Box for $150 and includes a beautiful statue of Faye. Unfortunately it does not include the steelbook with the disc copy of the game, or any copy of the game, physical or digital. Sony warned that pre-orders will open today at 10am local time via PlayStation Direct, and stocks are limited. Below you can see the complete breakdown of the items in the box.

God of War Laufey box contents:

Faye Light-Up Statue - An eight-inch tall statue of Faye, Frank, and Roe fighting Bugtse's soldiers. Phranque lights up when the statue is connected to a USB power source.

51 Card Oracle Deck – Featuring custom illustrations for each card by the talented Megan Lara, the Oracle Deck is a beautiful representation of your adventure through Everywhen.

Small physical art book – concept art depicting Laufey's God of War characters, creatures, and environments handpicked by our talented art team at Santa Monica Studios.

Predictably, a lot of people are comparing it to the GTA 6 Collector's Box without the game. However, some may appreciate the value that God of War offers here a bit more. The GTA 6 box includes a set of Vice City-themed merchandise, such as a pair of sunglasses, a hat, and a cartoon figure named Macca. It also costs $400, which is hard to swallow.

Many were critical of the fact that the GTA 6 box did not include the Jason and Lucia figurines, in addition to feeling that the box would have been cheaper if it did not include certain items. Therefore, God of War Laufey may not be a deal breaker for some fans as it is a smaller box with a statue of the protagonist. However, it feels a little lacking compared to the God of War Collector's Editions.

The God of War Ragnarok Collector's Edition included Thor's Hammer, a Steelbook (without the game disc, of course), DLC, a code for the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game, and a handful of other retail items. The 2018 God of War Collector's Edition included a statue of Kratos and Atreus, a steel book with a disc, a physical map, a lithograph, and two minifigures of Brooke and Cinder, in addition to a bunch of digital content.

While this is likely an add-on for those planning to purchase the game, it's disappointing that Laufey's God of War box doesn't at least include a free upgrade to the deluxe digital version of the game, which includes armor and special weapons in the full game.

God of War Laufey – Collector Box will be available in "extremely limited quantities" exclusively direct from PlayStation on February 16, 2027 for a suggested retail price of $149.99 / €149.99 / £129.99. Pre-orders begin today, October 13, 2026 at 10am local time.
