Kashmer- The head of the veterinary department of Kashmer city announced the sealing of a butchery unit on the outskirts of this city due to the illegal slaughter of animals and the supply of meat outside the cycle of veterinary health supervision.
According to Mehr reporter, Fardin Hosseinzadeh said in a conversation with reporters on Monday evening: The operator of this butchery unit had illegally slaughtered animals outside the slaughterhouse and offered meat without veterinary health supervision. After obtaining a court order and as a threat to public health, this unit was sealed in the presence of the deputy prosecutor, police officers and veterinary experts, the Department of Industry, Mines and Trade, and the Chamber of Guilds.
Referring to the dangers of slaughtering animals outside the slaughterhouse and without health supervision, the head of the veterinary department of Kashmer city added: This illegal action can provide the basis for the transmission of common diseases between humans and animals, including Crimean-Congo fever, brucellosis, tuberculosis and parasitic diseases, and endanger the public health of the society.
Emphasizing the need to comply with health regulations in the supply of meat, he stated: All butchers are obliged to transfer the animals they need to the authorized slaughterhouses so that slaughtering operations can be carried out in a healthy and hygienic environment.
Hosseinzadeh continued: After conducting health inspections and verifying the health of the carcass, a veterinary stamp and label will be placed on it. Also, keeping the meat in the pre-cold stage for 24 hours, while helping to reduce the risk of transmission of some common diseases, improves the quality and crispiness of the meat and reduces its microbial load.
The head of the veterinary department of Kashmer city pointed out that the weight loss of the carcass in the pre-cold stage, due to the evaporation of part of its surface water, is one of the reasons for the reluctance of some butchers to go to the slaughterhouse, and said: this weight loss can also affect the price of meat supply; While some of the weight loss of fresh meat, if the basic storage process is not followed, may also happen after it reaches the consumer.
