Russian stocks rose as the main trading session began

Russian MOEX and RTS indexes increased by 0.54% to 2399.76 and 902.55 units, respectively.

Moscow, October 16. /TASS/. Russia's MOEX and RTS indexes rose 0.54 percent to 2,399.76 and 902.55, respectively, according to trading data at 9:00 a.m. Moscow time (6:00 a.m. GMT) at the same time as the main trading session began on Friday. The exchange rate of the yuan against the ruble increased by 2.75 kopecks to 12.51 rubles compared to the previous close.

By 9:16 a.m. Moscow time (6:16 a.m. GMT), the indices rose 0.47 percent to 2,397.97 and 901.88 points, respectively. Meanwhile, the yuan exchange rate rose by 2.9 kopecks to 12.511 rubles.

The MOEX index increased by 0.42 percent and reached 2396.79 units at the start of morning trading on the Moscow Stock Exchange at 7:00 a.m. Moscow time (4:00 a.m. GMT).
