Mousavipur: In injury and death accidents, maintain the scene until the presence of the police

The head of the Greater Tehran Traffic Police emphasized: In accidents involving injury and death, the scene of the accident must be preserved until the arrival of the police, and in accidents with damages, the moving of cars depends on the registration of documents and the agreement of the parties.

Ambassador Arjan of Community Group; Sardar Seyed Abulfazl Mousavipour, the head of the Greater Tehran Traffic Police, in a conversation with the police reporter of Sefir Arjan, referring to the statistics of motorcycle accidents in the capital, emphasized the need to increase the use of helmets and the participation of various institutions to reduce the casualties of this group of traffic users.

He stated: According to the statistics provided, 304 motorcycle riders died in traffic accidents in the first five months of this year. Also, motorcycles have played a role in about 49% of fatal accidents.

Emphasizing the importance of head protection in traffic accidents, Mousavipour added: Head injuries are one of the most important factors in the death of motorcyclists in accidents, and the use of standard helmets can play an effective role in reducing the severity of injuries and preventing deaths.

about five million motorcycles; The need to expand the use of helmets

Referring to the high number of motorcycles, the head of the Greater Tehran Traffic Police said: The number of motorcycles has reached about five million units, and considering the contribution of this vehicle in fatal accidents, promoting the culture of using helmets should be pursued seriously.

He emphasized: Dealing with motorcyclists' deaths cannot be achieved only through the application of the law, and in addition to control measures, education, culture and cooperation of families, organizations and media are also necessary.

Donation of 84,000 helmets in the form of "helmets, helmets of life" campaign

Referring to the implementation of the "Safety Helmet, Life Helmet" campaign since 1402, Mousavipour said: In the form of this program and in various occasions and situations, nearly 84,000 helmets have been donated to citizens so far.

He added: This program was implemented with the aim of promoting the use of helmets among motorcyclists and included various groups including employees of government agencies, private collections and citizens. Also, measures have been taken to encourage motorcyclists to use helmets in some situations, including intersections and fuel stations.

Stating that this number is not enough compared to the number of motorcycles, the head of the Greater Tehran Traffic Police demanded more participation from government agencies, private companies, organizations and military complexes to provide helmets for their motorcycle employees.

Emphasizing the role of the media in changing traffic behaviors, Mousavipour said: Culture building for the use of helmets should not be limited to special occasions, but should continue throughout the year.

He added: TV programs, serials and video content display platforms can play an effective role in promoting safe behaviors. Showing motorcyclists without helmets in visual works may also convey wrong behavior to the audience; Therefore, it is important to pay attention to the cultural and educational consequences of media productions.

The head of the Greater Tehran Traffic Police also announced that according to the statistics provided by him, the amount of helmet use in 1403 increased from about 10% to 49%.

In the end, Mousavipour emphasized the necessity of continuing educational programs and the participation of public and private institutions and said: reducing motorcycle rider casualties requires a set of coordinated measures and the use of helmets should become a regular behavior among motorcycle riders.

Mousavipour: The service of offending schools should be stopped; Registration of only 17 thousand students in the system

The Chief of Traffic Police of Greater Tehran, referring to the necessity of ensuring the safety of students in commuting to schools, stated: One of the important issues at the beginning of the school year is the monitoring of vehicles that are responsible for transporting students; Cars whose drivers must ensure the safety of passengers and other traffic users by complying with regulations.

He added: Some drivers commit violations such as entering prohibited routes, driving in the opposite direction, crossing red lights, and driving more than the capacity of the car in order to get students to school faster or to transfer more of them.

Emphasizing that such behaviors can endanger the lives of students, Mousavipour clarified: school service drivers must follow traffic regulations and in case of violations, the matter must be reported to the relevant authorities for investigation and legal action.

From covering the license plate to driving more than the capacity; Violations that threaten students' lives

Referring to some violations observed in students' transportation vehicles, the head of the Greater Tehran Traffic Police said: "Not complying with the permitted capacity of the vehicle, moving on the prohibited route and performing risky behaviors to reach the destination faster are among the things that can threaten the safety of students."

He emphasized: The responsibility of the driver is not only to bring the student to school, but this transfer should be done in compliance with the regulations and in safe conditions. If a violation is found, it is necessary to deal with the driver legally.

Police appeals to students and families; Report violations

Mousavipour asked the students to inform their parents, teachers or the school principal if they see a violation of the school service driver so that follow-up is possible.

He added: Families and citizens can also report violations to the police through numbers 110 and 197. School principals can also communicate with district traffic police officials to investigate the issues raised.

Referring to the vastness of the capital's road network, the head of the Greater Tehran Traffic Police stated: Considering the size of Tehran, the existence of about 10,500 kilometers of roads and the high number of intersections, it is not possible to deploy police officers in all parts of the city. Therefore, people's participation and timely reporting of violations are important in identifying and following up dangerous cases

A significant gap between the number of students and those enrolled in the school service

In another part of his speech, Mousavipour mentioned the registration statistics of the school service and said: while about 1.5 million students study in Tehran schools, the number of people registered in the school service system, based on the statistics presented in this interview, is about 17 thousand.

Pointing to the importance of organizing the transfer of students, he emphasized: the condition of school services and the compliance of the drivers should be taken into account so that the movement of students can be done in safer conditions.

Driving without a license is not just a simple offense

The head of the Greater Tehran Traffic Police further explained about driving without a license: People who intend to drive on public roads must have a valid license that matches their vehicle.

He added: "Driving without a license is not just a violation similar to running a red light and can have legal consequences." In case of an accident, not having a license does not eliminate the legal responsibilities of the driver.

Mousavipour said about compensation in such accidents: In cases where the driver does not have a license, the culprit of the accident may be paid by the insurance company according to the regulations, but this does not necessarily mean that the driver's responsibility is removed, and the insurance company can refer to the guilty driver to recover the amount paid within the framework of the law.

Police advice about damage accidents and injury accidents

In another part of this conversation, Mousavipour said about how to manage traffic accidents: In accidents with damages, if the parties agree on how the accident happened and the amount of responsibility, they can take pictures of the condition of the cars and the location of the collision, and after registering the necessary documents, open the way for other cars to avoid creating unnecessary traffic.

He emphasized: In case of a dispute about the cause of the accident or determining the culprit, the drivers should follow up the matter through the police. Also, in accidents leading to injury or death, it is important to preserve the scene of the accident, and the situation of the place should not change before the arrival of the police in such a way that it becomes difficult to investigate the dimensions of the accident.

In the end, the head of the Greater Tehran Traffic Police considered the observance of regulations by school service drivers, the supervision of families and the participation of citizens in reporting violations as important factors in improving the safety of students and reducing traffic risks.
