EXCLUSIVE: Actor-producer Ashley Blaine Peterson-Jenkins and Christina Elmore make it official: Having pre-emptively acquired the TV rights to Black Girl, Jump, Charlene Thomas' young adult horror novel, they've announced the launch of their new production banner, Tomorrow/Today.

According to Ollie, Featherson-Jenkins and Elmore are on a mission to "focus the voices that have been silenced and celebrate the talents that have been left out." They launched Tomorrow/Today - quietly, in 2025 - after deciding they were no longer interested in waiting for permission to make the art they loved. "No day is ever promised, so tomorrow has to be today, and bold stories worth telling have to be made now rather than tomorrow," says Featherson-Jenkins, Watch on Deadline.

Elmore said the duo's goal is to "accomplish artists and storytellers with immediate stories they can't shake."

Tomorrow/ Today's first big buy is Black Girl, Jum p, as Bunny meets Get Out. It's a surreal speculative novel centered on a popular cosmetic that makes all but black girls shine. That is, until Brienne—the only black girl invited to attend an exclusive summer retreat—discovers a bubbling river in the woods that gives her a spark. She shines, revealing just how much the girls and the town want to steal her shine.

The novel, from the author of Seton Girls and It's You Every Time, is set to be published by Dutton on June 8, 2027.

Elmore was a regular on TNT's The Last Ship for five seasons and played Marie on Lena Waithe's Twenties. She was nominated for an NAACP Image Award for a guest role on HBO's Insecure and starred in HBO Max's The Girls on the Bus. He is repped by Gersh, OPE Partners and Hansen, Jacobsen, Teller.

Author Thomas is represented by IAG and Ann Rose at Marsal Lyon Literary Agency (formerly Tobias Literary Agency at time of sale).
