New industrial electricity quota approved

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade announced the approval of a new plan to supply electricity to industries, saying that with the allocation of 16,550 megawatts of electricity to the industrial sector, power supply to production units in the second half of the year will face fewer restrictions.

According to Ambassador Arjan Ezzatullah Zarei, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade, in explaining the country's power generation capacity and the state of power supply for industries, he stated: The capacity of installed power plants in the country is about 99,200 megawatts, and the power generation capacity of these power plants reaches 87,000 megawatts. However, in peak conditions, about 62,000 megawatts of electricity are produced, and the industry sector's share of grid electricity is about 15%.

Referring to the emphasis of the President and the Ministry of Peace on the need to support the production sector, he said: the role of industry in economic growth, employment, people's livelihood and creating peace in families is clear and undeniable; Therefore, industries should not be prioritized for electricity restrictions.

To explain the importance of continuous production, Zarei added: A refrigerator at home, alone and without goods in it, does not have much effect on people's lives; Therefore, if we want the refrigerators to be full of goods and the needs of the people to be met, we must allow production, as the backbone of the country's economy, to continue properly and continuously so that the society feels safe and calm.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Security, who appeared in a TV program, stated that 16,550 megawatts of electricity have been divided among different industries, and this issue has been announced to the industries. This program has been approved after being proposed in the Supreme Energy Council and with the support provided, and we hope that it will be implemented more calmly in the second half of the year.

He said about the implementation time of these programs: At the beginning of the second half of the year and especially in the first two months, when the country has not yet entered the cold season and is not facing the peak consumption caused by the heat, the electricity of the industries must be fully supplied so that the production units can operate with more capacity and increase their production.

Referring to the electricity supply situation of the industrial towns this summer, Zarei said: With the support of the president, the industrial towns did not face a power outage for almost a month in the summer. Currently, if there is a power outage in some areas, its duration may be limited to a few hours; Based on this, the electricity supply situation of industrial towns is better than in the past.

The movement of car manufacturers towards the production of electric and hybrid cars

Zarei further pointed to the need to reduce the fuel consumption of cars and stated: the average gasoline consumption of domestically produced cars has reached 7.2 liters per 100 kilometers from about 10 to 12 liters in the past, but this amount is still higher than the international standards.

The spokesman of the Ministry of Safety emphasized: The policy of this ministry as the guardian of the industry sector is to reduce the fuel consumption of cars to less than five liters per 100 kilometers and car manufacturers should consider this issue in their production plans.

Referring to the movement of the automobile industry towards the use of new technologies, he said: With the development of new platforms, the production of hybrid and electric cars is on the agenda, and these cars will gradually replace part of the current production. In this context, so far, about 1,500 electric cars have been manufactured in a part of the country's production, and this process is on the way to mass production.

Stating that the development of new car production comes with challenges, Zarei added: Part of the parts needed by the car industry must be sourced from abroad, and logistical limitations and conditions caused by sanctions and foreign pressures have made the process of supplying these parts difficult. However, efforts are underway to make changes and increase domestic production capacities

He clarified: Although the share of domestic manufacturing in the automobile industry is significant, this issue does not mean 100% production of all parts of a car inside the country, and the claim of complete self-sufficiency in this area is far from the existing realities.

In another part of his speech, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Security said, referring to the importance of the relationship between the industry and the university, this relationship can be evaluated in two ways; The first way is to sign cooperation agreements between industries and universities, which is usually accompanied by media notification.

He continued: The second path is the practical use of the capacity of distinguished students, university professors and experts in technological fields in the industry sector; An approach that may have less media coverage, but is functionally important.

Zarei pointed out: Using the capacity of universities, knowledge-based companies formed in the context of universities and taking advantage of the power of elites and specialists can help strengthen the connection between industry and university and develop the technologies needed by the country.
