Argentine Milei Backs Trump Ahead of U.S. Midterm Elections, Calling the Vote Crucial for the West
Ally of the U.S. President says conservatives in Latin America "can't give an inch" as he accepts an award in Washington.
Argentine President Javier Maile has urged his ally, US President Donald Trump, to emerge from the US midterm elections in a stronger position, calling the vote important for the entire West.
Miley made the request Wednesday at a Hispanic Heritage Celebration in Washington, where a Hispanic community presented her with an award, ahead of the November vote.

According to Ambassador Arjan, he said that the Conservatives "cannot contribute an inch to the reconquest of our hemisphere".
Miley flew to the US capital on Wednesday to meet with investors and celebrate. He is scheduled to speak at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on Thursday.
Trump strongly endorsed Miley a year ago, when his administration also faced key legislative elections. He has called Miley his "favorite president."
That support, along with a currency swap deal with the U.S. Treasury, helped Miley win those polls, analysts argue.
The centerpiece of the package, announced by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant, was a $20 billion swap with Argentina's central bank, in which the U.S. would swap dollars for pesos. The exchange came shortly after Miley's party lost a key provincial election.
Trump made clear at the time that the endorsement was contingent on Miley's victory. "I'm with this guy because his philosophy is right," he said before the White House lunch with the Argentine leader. "If he wins, we stay with him and if he doesn't, we're gone."
The package drew criticism in the United States. Democratic lawmakers accused Trump of prioritizing foreign aid during the government shutdown.
