Trade exchanges between Russia and Afghanistan are growing and stable - representative
Zamir Kabulov said that it is important that this process is stable and progressive
Moscow, October 16. /TASS/. Zamir Kabulov, the special representative of the Russian presidency for Afghanistan, said that the trade turnover between Russia and Afghanistan has doubled in the first six months of this year, which indicates a sustainable growth trend.
"Trade between our countries is growing. In the first half of this year, it doubled," Kabulov said at a conference on security in Central Asia and Afghanistan organized by the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
While acknowledging that "absolutely, the figures are moderate", he emphasized that "when it comes to Afghanistan, which is standing on its feet again after 20 years of American and NATO occupation, this issue is of considerable importance."
In his opinion, "it is important that this process (growing business - TASS) is stable and progressive."
"We will strive to maintain this pace of development," Kabulov assured, stressing that a "beneficial and constructive bilateral interaction" is being established between Russia and Afghanistan.
