Ambassador Arjan: The X social network claimed to have suspended user accounts attributed to Iran, Russia and China on the eve of the US mid-term elections.
According to Al Jazeera, the company's global government affairs team claimed in a post on X that it had suspended more than 13,000 accounts in connection with what it called "three possible foreign influence operations" attributed to Iran, Russia and China.
According to X's claim, these networks used fake accounts to publish and promote political content and targeted candidates and public figures from different political spectrums.
"Whether we're dealing with spam networks or entities involved in hacking operations, we actively seek to identify and stop coordinated and unethical behavior that undermines the health and credibility of our platform," the company said.
