Destiny 1 project, which aims to bring the game to PC, reportedly caught the attention of Bungie's head.

The original Destiny never made it to PC, but the MMO shooter may not be locked on PS4 and Xbox One for much longer. Some crafty modders are working on getting the game to run on PC, and their efforts recently caught the attention of Bungie, which surprisingly didn't result in a takedown - at least not yet.
YouTuber Flummoxed has been sharing progress updates and recently showed screenshots of various parts of Destiny 1 running on PC in 4K resolution at over 60fps. The video has a wider FOV than the image on the console, meaning the build is improved compared to the consoles.
The latest video has been widely shared among the Destiny community and, to Bungie's surprise, has been well received. Josh Dean, the studio's production manager and general manager of Marathon, commented on the X movie, joking, "It looks like a beautiful game, I don't know if it does it well."
It is worth shaking the religion for what it is and not rushing. This isn't an endorsement of Bungie's Destiny 1 revival, and I'd be surprised if Sony doesn't issue a DMCA takedown soon.
You may remember Dean from Bungie's recent apology video where the studio's new leader, including Dean, promised to restore Destiny 2 content that had been removed over the years.
Considering how understaffed Bungie seems to be, and how it has to split its attention between Destiny 2 and Marathon, a PC version of Destiny 1 is likely not high on the studio's current priority list.
As for the project itself, it's called Project Golden Age, and it's working from client and server requests and responses to essentially remake the game. Fan projects have used similar techniques in the past to keep servers running for online-only games after they were shut down, such as Anthem. However, Golden Age appears to be using generative AI, and a cloud bookmarking tool is listed on the project's GitLab page. The end result isn't perfect yet, with a few physics and rendering issues, but it's the closest thing we have to Destiny 1 on PC.
