Analog today announced new versions of its Super Nt and Mega Sg consoles with a "refined industrial design" and built-in wireless connectivity for controllers and accessories. Like the originals, the new Super Nt Plus and Mega Sg Plus are capable of playing Nintendo and Sega Genesis cartridges using an FPGA processor that fully recreates the performance of 16-bit Nintendo and Sega consoles without the need for emulation.

Although none of the new consoles allow SNES or Genesis titles to be played in 4K like Analogue 3D with Nintendo 64 titles, the 1080p Super Nt and Mega Sg Plus add a USB-C port so you can power them using the cables you already use with your phone and mobile devices, and an additional USB-A port for other devices. Both consoles also introduce built-in Bluetooth or a low-latency 2.4GHz wireless connection for connecting to gamepads without the need for additional tools.

Wired controllers are still an option, and upgraded consoles can both be turned on remotely using any gamepad connected as the primary controller. Analogue also says that game cartridges can now be swapped out without having to completely shut down either console after exiting the game via the menu.

Both the Super Nt Plus and Mega Sg Plus will be available for pre-order starting October 19 at 9am PT/11am ET for $219.99, with shipping expected to begin later this year in December.
