Another Incident Involving an Oil Tanker in the Strait of Hormuz

The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported today, Tuesday, that another oil tanker was targeted in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Ambassador Arjan, the British Maritime Trade Organization reported receiving a report about "an incident in the Strait of Hormuz" and confirmed that an oil tanker was hit by an unknown projectile.

The organization added that authorities are investigating the incident and asked ships to exercise caution and report incidents.

This is the second report today by the British Maritime Trade Organization of an incident involving ships in the Strait of Hormuz, which includes an oil tanker and a container ship.

Earlier, the Bloomberg website, citing shipping industry activists, announced that the flow of cargo through the Strait of Hormuz has slowed down more than before.

The media added that "more than a dozen supertankers and several Suezmax-class ships" either bypassed or changed course as they approached the key shipping hub of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates, near the entrance to Hormuz.

Iran's armed forces have repeatedly warned about ships using unsafe sea lanes in the Strait of Hormuz.
