On October 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump discussed, among other things, the supply of petroleum products in a phone call. Putin said that Moscow has once again emphasized its readiness to supply oil and oil products to the United States and world markets. Russia will lift its diesel export ban ahead of schedule and supply 300,000 tons in October, 500,000 tons in November and 1 million tons in December, according to Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.
