Stealing gold from the father-in-law's safe; Arous and Malekhar were arrested
The head of the Tehran Intelligence Police announced the arrest of a bride who is accused of selling 250 grams of her father-in-law's gold worth 50 billion Rials with a substitute and the original gold.
According to Ambassador Arjan's report, Col. Amin Biranvand, explaining the details of the case, stated: After the plaintiff opened the safe of his house to access his identification documents, he noticed the suspicious condition of the gold and upon further investigation found that the original ornaments were replaced with fake ones.
He added: Preliminary investigations showed that about 250 grams of gold worth approximately 50 billion Rials was stolen in this way. After referring the case to the anti-theft team of the 4th police station, the detectives put a specialized investigation into the matter on the agenda.
The head of the 4th station of the Greater Tehran Intelligence Police continued: Considering that the residents of the building were members of the same family and there were no signs of destruction or forced entry into the house, the possibility of a robbery by someone familiar with the environment and conditions of the house was raised.
According to Colonel Biranvand, by conducting police actions and using CCTV images of Malbakhte's residence, the detectives obtained clues that, along with other evidence, strengthened the suspicion of a family member's role in the robbery. It was later revealed that the bride of the family had old differences with some of her husband's relatives.
With the coordination of the investigator of the first branch of Tehran's 15th District Prosecutor's Office and respecting family considerations, the order to summon the suspect was issued. After being at the base and initially denying the accusation, this woman confessed to stealing the gold with a previous plan in the face of the available evidence.
Making gold barter and selling stolen property
Colonel Biranvand said about the defendant's confessions: This woman has claimed that family disputes and what she described as humiliation and insults from her wife's sister had provided the basis for her hatred. He also said that due to his mother-in-law's illness, he was worried that after her death, the inherited gold would go to his wife's sister.
According to the defendant's confession, he visited his father-in-law's house several times and opened the safe using the key, under the pretext of helping and comforting him. He took pictures of the gold and sent the pictures to a gold shop in Tehran's gold sellers' market to make fake samples.
After preparing replacements and paying a fee of around 500 million tomans, this woman replaced the original gold with fake gold and then sold the stolen gold at a lower price to the buyer of the stolen property in Tehran's gold dealers market.
Arrest of Malkhar in Tehran goldsmiths market
The head of the 4th station of Greater Tehran Intelligence Police added: In the continuation of the investigation and with the judicial order, the person who had bought the stolen gold was arrested on October 19, 1405 in Tehran's gold dealers' market and was taken to the police headquarters.
According to him, during the investigation, this accused also accepted the purchase of stolen gold from the arrested woman and depositing the money into her account.
In the end, Colonel Biranvand noted: Additional investigations to investigate the dimensions of the case and to complete the judicial documents are still ongoing at the 4th base of Greater Tehran Police Intelligence.
