Pokémon x Beats Pill Edition Special Speaker Now Available at Select Retailers
Update: The speaker is currently out of stock at Apple with at least a flicker of stock at Target.
Beats by Dre announced a collaboration with Pokemon earlier this week. Now we know exactly what the collaboration entails: a new Pokemon-themed Beats Pill.
The special edition Beats Pill features images of two Pokemon: Pikachu and Mimikyu. Yes, a Gen 7 Pokméon is actually getting merchandise attention. Joining the endless list of Pokemon 30th anniversary celebrations, this wireless speaker is available now at Apple and Target for $149.99.
The Pokemon Edition Beats Pill Speaker is now available
The émon special edition speaker is a new color for the latest Beats tablet. This model was originally released in 2024 with an MSRP of $149.99, the same price as the new Pokemon.
The big upgrade was the sound quality. The 2024 upgrade comes with a redesigned "racetrack" woofer that moves up to 90% more air for clearer bass and less distortion. A slightly slanted angle also helps the speaker's voice reach the listeners instead of the table or the floor. While the new model reverts to mono architecture, you can pair it with another Beats Pill for amplification or stereo mode.
This wireless speaker offers up to 24 hours of battery life, in addition to a "Quick Fuel" fast charging mode that shaves two hours off battery life with a 10-minute charge. The device has a USB-C connection and supports reverse charging, which means you can use the speaker as a power bank for your phone or other compatible devices.
The speaker is also IP67 rated for dust and water resistance, making it a great choice for pool parties and beach days.
As for the Pokemon design? Well, that's interesting. The speaker itself is largely gray, and Mimikio appears in grayscale. Color is reserved for the classic yellows and red cheeks of Pikachu, which looks a bit confusing. Small lightning details decorate the surround speaker.
The special edition Pokémon Beats Pill speaker is available now for $149.99 from Apple and select third-party retailers.
